What a buy!
I am impressed with this product. I looked at various similar motorized devices and nothing seemed to compare. I chose the Soonpho, and I am glad I did. It seems well-constructed, durable and it works well. I tried it with my cell phone and have yet to use it with my DSLR or other cameras, but it did extremely well in everything I tried. I highly recommend this motorized panoramic head. I carefully check others' comments before buying and am rarely disappointed with my purchase. UPDATE: I used the Soonpho with my Canon DSLR, and I have no complaints. It worked smoothly with no jitter. With a heavier lens, it might be a good idea to find the balance point, but I have no way to really test this.

Under powered, under constructed
For a light weight camera it's fine. Quite, fairly quick though not fast. Near it's one pound limit it's lacking. The back lash in the gears gets obvious as does it's under powering. It's all plastic and I doubt it would survive rough handling. I suspect the gears are also plastic. It works well enough for half of what I needed it for. I would not buy it again.

Stops working within 24 hours
I can’t understand how these products can be so poorly made. This is my second one in 6 months. I thought maybe it was a fluke with the 1 st one breaking so I bought a second on. It Broke in 24 hours in the middle of a very important appt using it!Really poor quality and really unfortunate. I will be returning

Smooth & Quiet
Solid builtWorks really wellHave not tested auto tracking yetI use it with a Black Magic Pocket Camera to stream our church service to YouTube.I had a problem getting the camera off each time and removed a (stop) screw from the back side of the plate. Now I can slide it off one way without excessive turns on the big tightening screw.Several months later I tried a cheap version by different company for the Bible Study room. It was not worth 1/3 the price nor what I paid for it, sent it back, now I have two of these. The remote on this second unit is far superior to the old one.

Second one worked
The first one of these I gat started malfunctioning, kept tilting up as soon as it was turned on and would not hold position. The second one worked as expected, mostly. The movement, especially the tilt, has a "flat spot", meaning it will get to the middle of the tilt and then jump instead of simply moving smoothly. The pan action is better but other than presetting the speed there is no control over the speed. It would be nice and far more useful, if one could apply varying pressure to the remote thereby being able to follow a subject that is not moving at a constant speed. The auto-panning/follow feature seems to only work with a person and gets confused in a crowd or even with a couple of people.Considering the price it is a usable, albeit limited, tool for your production kit.

Not possible to operate two heads at the same
Individually, these heads work very well even though they are limited to one movement at the time (either pan or tilt but not both at the same time). I bought two and ended up returning them since it was not possible to operate them at the same time without interfering with each other even when using different channels. During a live event it will be very risky for camera operators to take turns to move the heads.
