Only had it a day or two so I can't speak to longevity. The bendable gooseneck stays where you put it. And it has a great range of brightness with the 5 steps. The lowest setting is barely enough to see my keyboard in a pitch-dark room (which is exactly what I wanted so as not to annoy my sleeping spouse) and the brightest makes a decent flashlight. I also love the way it turns off directly from any of the brightness settings with a longpress. Then it remains at that setting when you turn it back on. This means you can keep it set at the brightness you like and you don't have to cycle through all 5 settings every time if you don't want to. Perfect! At this price, if it lasts for a while, I might have to get a whole bag full of these.I'd also like to commend the seller for NOT flooding the comments with a bunch of fake 5-star reviews. That is such an annoying trend for small electronic gizmos like this. Every time I buy anything from Amazon anymore, I run the product URL through "fakespot dot com". I suggest you do the same and I hope Amazon starts to incorporate a fake-review checker automatically.

After reading tons of reviews and looking at the large variety of USB lights listed on Amazon, I am so glad I purchased this one! I absolutely love it. I cannot speak to it's longevity yet because I just got it. It arrived quickly. It is exactly as advertised but exceeds my expectations. It has 5 levels of brightness and can be turned off while plugged in. It's simplicity is one of it's best qualities. It's bendy but also holds itself however you want it. The different levels of brightness are great, from dim to very very bright. I am using it primarily for my laptop keyboard at night. I am super excited to also be able to plug it into my USB extension cord and plug it into the wall, car, or a power pack. Great product for the price. Highly recommend it. Thanks you very much!

I absolutely love the flexibility on this light! I typically use it with a USB battery pack. I originally purchased a white one to use the dim light for getting ready in the morning without a bright light, and it was totally awesome! Sadly, I lost it, so I purchased this one which works just as great! I've actually used it a lot whenever the power goes out! It hardly uses any power, so my battery pack lasts a super long time! Which is totally awesome!

Getting 5 levels of brightness for a light this inexpensive is really amazing. The brightest level is brighter than using your smart phone flashlight feature, and the dimmest level is, for me, just perfect for typing on my laptop in a dark room. The bendable neck of the lamp stays where you set it so it is not shining in your eyes. As other reviewers have noted, the power button is intelligently designed: A fast click cycles through the 5 levels of brightness while a slow press jumps directly to whatever level you last used, so you can turn it on and off at your preferred level without having to click through all 5 levels each time. If you plug it into one of those portable USB battery power packs, you can have a handy flashlight or nighttime reading light that will last a long time on a single charge.

I'm not using this as a typical desk light ... though it would do great in that role. I have it clamped to a bed post as a bit of a night-light and occasional reading light. I love the fact that you can adjust it for no blue light.

I replaced my regular hdd's with ssd's. With my quiet case, if the drive access light wasn't lit, I couldn't tell if my PC was on. I would turn it off as the surge protector without realizing I hadn't shut it down properly. By plugging this into a usb port on top of the PC, it stays lit as long as the computer is on even when the monitor goes to sleep. So no more bad shutdowns. And, it makes a nice light to use when keeping the room dark for late night computing.

Goes from very dim to excessively bright. Squeeze the base for a few seconds and it turns off. I use this to light on my dash at night in my semi so I can find my light switches and adjust the temperature in the sleeper without turning on the head lights to light up my dash. The warmth level of this light is somewhere between moderate warm and ultra bright white and I can't stand those ultra bright white lights. If I had to guess, I'd put it somewhere around 7k.

Over time we have ordered several of these amazing little lights. I take them along with rechargeable batteries to Malawi, Africa and give them to people we work with there. There is frequently no electric and no lights at night so these lights are a lifesaver, long-lasting and two can give a workable amount of light in a medium size room. Everyone is always so happy when I bring more. I just ordered 3 more to take to Malawi in November but unfortunately 1 does not work at all. Not sure why; I guess it's just a dud. They are not returnable but that is the case with many things ordered on-line now. Even with this having happened I highly recommend these lights.
