It does the job of supplementing power to an external device
The components appear sturdy.It's designed to act as a passthrough connection for a USB 3.0 device, with a supplementary USB 2.0 connector adding additional power; the USB 2.0 connector will not transmit data, it's only wired for power transmission. All connectors are Type A; female connector for the cable to the external device, male connectors to attach to your computer. The data passthrough connectors are blue USB 3.0, while the power connector is your standard USB 2.0 coloration.I got it for an external hard drive enclosure that wasn't powering up properly due to various USB ports not providing enough juice, and it does the job.

Saved my Raspberri Pi 4
I have an nvme enclosure without a power supply, and under load the usb port on the Pi shuts off sometimes. It even got to the point of shutting off the entire usb controller, but this solved the issue.

Works as advertised
I ordered this because I had a NES Advantage to USB adapter that was not providing enough power for the NES advantage to be recognized. I needed 5V and the USB port was providing 3V. Using this, along with a usb power plug, I was able to achieve the necessary 5V to get the controller recognized.

UPDATE: Temporarily resolved laptop power supply issues due to power hungry wifi adapter
Lasted a few months until data side of cable failed to operate, while just sitting there.------------------------------------Using awus 1900 and immediately noted mouse became severely hesitant, sluggish. This cord remedied laptop's power supply issue. . plugged male data 3.0 into laptop and other male into 5v phone charger. works great.
