Hohner Castanets (S303)

The way these are presented is extremely misleading. I was purchasing castanets last minute for a concert. In a hurry, I saw the four pictured castanets with the caption "pair of 2" which I took to mean 2 sets with two castanets each. The price was good for four castanets and comparable to other companies. I ordered just enough for all my students to have one to play at their concert. When they arrived I found that I only had half of what I needed. After further inspection on the site, I found that "pair of 2" actually meant only 2 castanets. They are overpriced for only two, and picturing four castanets with the caption "pair of 2" is extremely misleading and downright deceptive. A music teacher spending hours of nights and weekends working on a concert quickly searching for instruments could easily be mislead, not having the time (or believing it necessary) to carefully read through all the answered questions to determine if the number of pictured castanets was the true number to be delivered. There was not enough time to return the castanets or order more. I ended up spending precious hours of my time driving to music stores all over the state try and track down more castanets, with little luck. Thanks to the deceptiveness and greed of this company (or my naivety to trust) ten of my little kindergarteners had no instruments to play for their concert. I'm extremely angry and wish this company would change their picture to the TRUE contents of the package and list simply "2 castanets" rather than "pair of two." Of course, then they would lose much of their business as they are overpriced for two castanets. Five stars for a great con job.

First off, these are super fun. Since they are plastic, they have a sharper, snappy sound. Be aware that these are made for children, so the elastic that goes around your finger is sized accordingly. A word of caution about ordering numbers. "One" means one pair. Another reviewer had the experience of ordering "one" and receiving one castanet, not one pair. I ordered two and received two pair. Just make sure you know the number you are ordering.

The picture is deceiving. Makes you think you will get 4. But it only comes with 2?! I wouldn't have chosen this product.... I need 4 of these. $10.98 seem really steep for only 2?!

My kids (8, 6, & 3 years) enjoy singing Spanish songs with our Spanish curriculum with these castanets. They are easy enough for a three-year old to use, but still fun for the older ones. They are not authentic in that each of the pair make the same sound but that didn't matter to us. My kids said, "thank you" over and over for getting them.

The picture is highly misleading. It's showing four Castanets, and you think that you're buying two pairs of them... however you only get two and not four as the picture suggests. I only bought one of these instead of the two I needed, now it's going to be late for christmas, I'm highly disappointed.

These were super easy to order, arrived ahead of their scheduled delivery date, ready to use. Unfortunately I didn't get the colors I would have preferred but they work great and I'm sure they'll get a lot of use. I would order from this shipper again.

Where are the kids could be heard when they’re playing

Really great castanet, makes a nice loud clicking sound. Customer service solved issues easily - It looked like from the picture you'd get 4 but we only got 2. They've since changed the listing to clear up the confusion. Nice people to work with and a good quality product made in Israel.
