Skar Audio TX46 4" x 6" 140W 2-Way Elite Coaxial Car Speakers, Pair

Just a good product at a good price, not much else to say. Perfect fit for my W900L and a major upgrade in sound quality. Factory speakers were adequate at best, these are simply unreal. 4 of these with 2 external tweeters, nice deck and a 12” under the bed this is definitely the best system I’ve put together. Just gotta get a set of the 6.5s to replace the Sonys in the bunk. One downfall, no female spade connectors/stub harnesses that come with most all speakers I’ve ever bought. I had 3 female spades with me, needed 8, luckily I have my soldering kit as I didn’t notice til I was balls deep at a lot in the middle of nowhere. Probably better off anyways

screw holes are cut out perfect and they would fit great but the magnet on the back is the only thing stopping that. not complaining in any way, i’m making a spacer and adding speaker covers and they’ll be great. they bump and are well worth the money if you’re not a professional critique. i have a boss radio but no extra amp or anything and the sound output and voice are both great.

Sound great easy install

Sound was pretty decent for this size of speaker. Very clear and powerful. I was surprised to find that the electrical connectors are not standardized. I've installed a bunch of speakers in my time and have never run into speakers with non-standard connectors. Not sure what this is about. In order to make this work I had to make an adapter to connect this speaker to my vehicle's wiring. Every speaker set I've installed have a large blade for the (+) connector and thin blade for the (-) connector. See attached pics to see the comparison. Still a decent speaker but be prepared to make electrical connector adapters. First pic shows the standard electrical connector you should normally see. The second picture is what I found on the Skar TX46. Ironically, the first photo is a Skar TX525 so I don't understand why the TX46 is different?

Great speaker. Was going to go with the infinity kappa 4x6 plates. But price of those. Wow. Got a budget to follow. But willing to go all out. But what stop me is that I could not find enough reviews or videos on the infinity but alot of reviews and videos on skar audio 4x6. So I purchased and test hooked up. Installed into my obs chevy. Driver side fits perfectly after taking rubber ring off big magnet. Passenger side. Does not fit. Not fault at skar. Just helping following people. So heat gun on the ac duct to put a dip in it to clear the magnet and boom. Perfect fight. Hook up to the radio and no amp and radio does a 55x4. And they sound awesome. I did poor these with prv 4 inch speaker neo in the B pillars because I did not want the tweet domes blowing in my ears. Since single cabs the rear speakers are right here at your ear. They sounded awesome. Surprise the bass that the 4x6 can handle. Not to much though. But enough to know that they a built right. I have used alot of different brands in the 4x6 size. For speakers from skar I was impressed. Nothing like I thought they be. Figured they be all cheaply made and flimsy basket and weak parts. But basket stron and stiff the speaker material it's nice is nice looking and seems built nicely. The clarity was shocking. Wired to the radii and no amp since I keep blowing 4x6 speakers figure I try it first. And see what happens. But anyways. Thanks skar for using the same size Spade for speaker wiring hook ups. Made crimping on some female spades and sliding on and mount such a breeze. Just wish yalls 6.5 was like that. Lol. That little one sucks because no wire harness came with none of the speaker sets I bought. But for the tx line of speakers from skar. I was happy and impressed of quality and sound for the money.

Took some effort but they squeezed into my 92 k1500 dash. The dash cover needed some trimming and I had to push down with the screws really hard to squeeze it against the hvac duct on the passanger side. Sound quality is great for still using the oem radio. Edit: it's been a few days now and I have to say, these are really good for 4x6 speakers. Sound is extremely clear and crisp. Not much bass but that is to be expected. I'll be putting in a skar subwoofer for sure after this.

They work but not after like 1 month after that they sound raspy. I love skar but I didn’t expect it to be that bad.

Sound great. A big improvement over factory.
