French Furniture : From Louis XIII to Art Deco

It may be small in size, but it packs a punch with well written text and the line drawings are well done. Wish I'd had this book when I was doing my course work in furniture history. Highly recommend.

This is a great reference manual. It arrived in a timely fashion.It is chocked FULL of beautifully detailed illustrations and clear, informative descriptions. I wish the typeset was larger, it's a bit too small. but it will do. The actual quality of the book itself is outstanding.I will not be lending this one out! I highly recommend it. easy reading as well.I think this book is a foundation reference for any serious furniture lover and student.

If you only have one reference book in your library on French Furniture, this is the one. For the beginning collector, the book provides clarification on terms and furniture types. For an appraiser, it's a great resource to help with identification of those forms which you do not see very often. There are only sketches, but they are clear, and provide very good detail. For those who simply want a better understanding of French furniture, this book is put together very well, and is easy to follow.

I have several "tableaus" of French furniture but had never found a book that was so lovely. I highly recommend this for fans of this period furnishings.

Lovely book, bought it for my dad who loves it, didn't realise the used copy I was purchasing was an old library book however - complete with old dirty looking labels and stamps all over the inside cover. Those details probably should have been stated before I bought it, especially as it was for a gift

This a pocket size book with a mountain of information on French furniture and styles. A must for the collector and bargain hunter alike.
