The metal failed where it joins. This item is not sturdy. I would not buy this again.

I am thoroughly impressed with this compost aerator! It is so easy to use and really gets the composting process going. The thermometer is a great feature and helps ensure that the composting process is taking place at the correct temperature. I have used other compost turners in the past and this one is definitely my favorite. The crank mechanism makes it easy to aerate the compost and the rotating bit ensures that even the most stubborn compost is aerated. I highly recommend this product for anyone who wants to get the most out of their composting experience!

This appears to be a Chinese rip off of the compost crank that was developed and made in Arizona, USA, by a small manufacturer. I would encourage you to look up and purchase the original which has impeccable reviews. This may be a fine product, but it is so, so sad to see a rip-off (and potential patent infringement) here.

Easy to put together and works very well. We will see if it lasts.
