While holding the umbrella, might the user accidentally hit the button, instantly collapsing the umbrella during a windy downpour?

It seems very unlikely. This umbrella is solidly built. I returned mine only because it is heavy and difficult to push closed, but the button needs to be pushed purposefully to begin closure. I really don't think it could be done accidentally. I purchased mine for much less with the "Amazon Giveaway" for a whole lot less, so I am not allowed to submit a review, so I hope it's O.K. that I added more than you asked.
