Music industry giant with really great taste
For anyone who bought vinyl albums in the golden age between the late 60s and late 80s Island Records was a hallmark of quality, originality and great taste. In this fine autobiography Island's founder and spiritual guide Chris Blackwell tells tales of musical splendour encompassing Bob Marley, Traffic, U2, Grace Jones, Free, John Martyn, Roxy Music, Nick Drake and many many more. Essential reading for any music fan

Great story about a life well lived creating magic.
Thoroughly enjoyed the story. Shame the publisher was too cheap to afford a professional copyreader to correct the many typos which were an annoying distraction.

A fascinating book for reggae and rock fans!
A compelling account of Chris Blackwell’s life, the forming of Island Records and the talented musicians he worked with. From Kingston to London to New York there is no one better to take you into the musical life of Bob Marley, Grace Jones, Bono U2. A treat to read.
