Seal Tight ORIGINAL Cast and Bandage Protector, Best Watertight Protection, Adult Foot and Ankle

This product really works and no water goes through. I am happy I purchased it.

In preparation for bilateral foot surgery, I bought two of the Seal Tight foot/ankle cast/bandage protectors. I was really nervous about using these to shower, because my doctor had sternly told me that under no circumstances should the bandages (on both feet) get wet. I had to wear surgical shoes the entire first week after the surgery and was still kind of wobbly when I went to shower on Day #3, so I kept the shoes on and pulled the protectors over them. The foot portion didn't quite fit because the protectors are apparently not made to go over surgical shoes - I thought the shoes would be about as bulky as a cast, but I guess this wasn't the case. However, the collar at the top fit snugly and my bandages stayed dry. Be sure that no portion of the bandage is sticking out above the rubber collar, or it'll act like a wick. The rubber collar is extremely taut, so you really have to stretch the opening to get it over a shoe or bandages; some people might need help with this. I'd also suggest drying the top of the protector before you remove it after you shower - water pools up on the horizontal surface, and you wouldn't want it to spill over your bandage or cast when you remove the protector. Next time (if there IS a next time!) I'd by a larger size to accommodate the surgical shoe better. Overall, this is a very clever and useful product.

I found this product extremely useful when I had a fracture on my toe. It protected my bandage from getting wet and is air-tight. Overall, a great product. I would recommend it to anyone, who has had a fracture on their foot / ankle lately.

I really liked the Seal Tight knee protector I bought years ago after my knee replacement surgery. The flexible plastic "tube" was open at both ends and allowed me to pull it easily over my knee and gave a water tight seal at both ends without any sort of "plastic ring" design. And it did not constrict my circulation - it fit snugly, but not severely, at both ends.So, I purchased this "Adult Foot and Ankle" protector for my wife who just had foot surgery. The hard plastic ring (with an inner elastic "diaphragm") design of this unit is just horrible. The "hole" in the diaphragm is 1 3/8" in diameter and you stretch this to put your foot through it. But the pressure the elastic ring places on your ankle (or worse on the calf) is really painful - and my wife is certainly not a large person. BTW, we purchased and received the adult protector not a pediatric protector. For her next shower I plan to use a scissor to carefully increase the diameter of the opening of the elastic ring, but I really think this product should be re-enginered. Considering that a person with foot surgery is probably at a greater risk of having a deep vein thrombosis (due to the surgery and decreased mobility during recovery), I think a device such as this one which constricts circulation should be avoided at all costs.

This product was exactly as ordered which was for the foot/ankle not full leg, some customers had complained about receiving the full leg although the box was labelled foot/ankle. I wanted the shorter version for the foot so I could wash and shave that leg. If you follow the simple instructions properly you will insure that it is completely waterproof. It is made of very strong material, I have long nails and didn't have any problems with the plastic tearing. The opening on the seal is very small but stretches adequately to fit over bandages but you will need to use both hands to stretch it open. I would advise not using too hot of water in the shower in order to prevent condensation on the inside of bag. After the shower wipe off outside of bag/seal and after removing let the bag dry out on a counter top. This will last for the 2 weeks I need to keep my bandages dry and I will use it again when I have the surgery on the other foot. The price was reasonable for such a quality item and definitely worth it! I am extremely pleased the purchase and it has made the process of showering after surgery extremely easy!

I had stitches on the bottom of my foot that couldn't get wet for 2 weeks, and my podiatrist recommended this product. I wasn't super worried about the shower as I have a bench and shelves to put my foot on, but these 2 weeks were during some of the hottest days of the summer so I needed something I could have in the pool, on a floatie! It's VERY simple to use and has an excellent seal. I didn't have a cast so I didn't have to try to stretch it too far, but I think it would've been just fine stretching wider to get over a cast. I tested it in the shower first and it worked perfectly. For the pool, I never fully submerged my foot just because I didn't want to chance getting my incision wet, but it did the trick as far as protecting it from splashes and whatnot. The top ring is a bit cumbersome when trying to keep your leg straight, and the seal is tight (as it's meant to me), but it's easy to deal with. I also hobbled around on our concrete patio with it on my foot and it held up like a champ! This is a great product, especially for the price. It's very simple to clean and it will be handy to have around (although hope we don't have to use it)!

This works well for what I need but is very small so pay attention to sizing when you order.Somehow I accidentally ordered two of these and only need one. I tried to return the unopened one but return is not allowed so I am stuck with the extra.

After a few foot surgeries and many debacles with trying to keep my foot dry when showering, I finally found this! This works perfect and it's easy to use! Fits snug, the gasket does not leak one bit. When put on the right way you can stand in a full shower and keep your foot completely dry. It starts to feel a little tight after having it on for a bit (like getting your blood pressure taken) and you have to really stretch it on to fit over big bandages or a cast but this thing really works!!

I've been using this since having an op on my foot and I have to say it has completely done the job. Its a bit of a pallaver to get on and off given the small hole at the top in order to keep it watertight but once you master it then its no problem. Im not quite sure of the hard blue bit at the top which gathers the water as in my opinion its a bit 'footery' and redundant and think it could have been better designed in that aspect but other than that it's a good product.

... at first. However this works fantastically, was nice to have a shower without my dressings getting wet !

The boot keeps my foot dry in the shower. Just what was needed.

I had surgery on my foot and this boot kept my foot dry in the shower.

Worked well for me. Not a drop of water entered the bag. However, I only had a bandage on my foot and not a cast. The rubber gasket at the opening is quite small but will stretch quite a bit. Other users of this item have told me that the gasket will tear if stretched to an extreme, as could happen if a heavy cast encases your foot.
