Perfect for My Pack of Pups
The Canidae All Life Stages Premium Dry Dog Food has been a fantastic choice for my diverse group of dogs! With a mix of breeds and ages in my household, finding a single food that meets everyoneโs needs can be a challenge, but this formula hits the mark perfectly. First and foremost, the quality of the ingredients is top-notch. My dogs seem to absolutely love the taste, and I love knowing that theyโre getting a balanced diet with real meat and wholesome grains. The multi-protein blend is great for supporting the health of dogs at all stages of life, from puppies to seniors. Iโve noticed improvements in their coats, energy levels, and overall health since switching to Canidae. Plus, itโs convenient to have one food that works for everyoneโno more separate bags or special diets. It simplifies feeding time and ensures that all my dogs are getting the nutrients they need. The kibble size is perfect for all sizes of dogs, and thereโs been no issue with digestive upset or picky eaters. If you have a mix of dogs and are looking for a high-quality, all-encompassing food option, I highly recommend Canidae All Life Stages. Itโs been a real game-changer for our furry family!

I have a brand new dog!!
Oh my goodness...I have an 11 year old pug/beagle mix that has been lethargic for about 3 years, wouldn't really play, had a dull coat no matter how much I groomed her, and has had itchy paws and armpits for a long time. I never knew that all of that crap was in the big name brand dog foods. I had always had her on Purina of some sort until I started doing research. I was blown away by what I read and quickly became obsessed with finding a better food without paying an arm and a leg. I refuse to pay more for my dogs food than for our own food. After researching about 30 different dog foods and prices and brands on different websites, I went with Canidae All Life Stages (chicken, turkey, lamb, and fish)via Amazon with free super saver shipping for both my 11 year old Puggle and my new 10 week old labrador retriever puppy. I haven't regretted the change or the purchase at all! I am absolutely thrilled. My 11 year old isn't nearly as itchy, has a crazy shiny coat now, and has ALL KINDS of energy to keep up with the puppy now! Also, the breeder of my new lab had her on Purina Pro Plan Large Breed so I switched her right away and even her coat looks so much better now and it's only been about 3 weeks. I can't wait to see the difference in the two of them over the next 3 or 4 months. They both did get a little bit constipated during the transition period from their old foods to the Canidae, but a little bit of canola oil for a few days drizzled over their breakfast and dinner fixed that until their bodies adjusted. Both are regular now with no problems. Also, during the transition, I couldn't get either of them to eat even one piece of their old food. They would both pick out the Canidae and gobble it up and then leave their old food in the bowl until they were later famished! It was funny to watch! Great product, great service, and will definitely continue to order the 44 lb bag via Amazon. The packaging was very very poor but that's a different issue. The box that the food was shipped in wasn't even big enough for the bag and the UPS driver brought me the food, with pieces of the box laying on top of the bag. Oh well, I'm still thrilled with the product! UPDATE: SEVERAL MONTHS LATER, BOTH DOGS ARE STILL DOING FANTASTIC WITH THE CANIDAE FOOD! THE PUPPY'S COAT ACTUALLY SPARKLES LIKE I PUT GLITTER ON HER IN THE SUNLIGHT, IT'S CRAZY. THE PUGGLE IS ONLY SHEDDING A THIRD OF WHAT SHE USED TO AND THE ONLY THING THAT SHE EVER CHEWS ON IS ONE OF HER PAWS AND THE VET GAVE ME A SPRAY FOR THAT. I AM STILL THRILLED WITH THE FOOD AND WITH AMAZON'S PRICE AND THE FREE SHIPPING!

Worried about diarrhea? Read this!
UPDATE: Iโve been using this a year. About 6 months in I started noticing excessive stools and diarrhea. Uh oh. I thought maybe all those reviews were right. But I had been letting my kids feed the dogs and they were giving them too much! We had a family meeting and showed them proper portions and IMMEDIATELY the diarrhea stopped. LESS IS MORE with this dog food! My 70lb Golden at 7yo get 1.5 cups PER DAY. Thatโs all she needs. More than that and runny stools. Same with the 1.5 year old pup. Start with the minimum amount suggested on the bag for your dog and you shouldnโt have any trouble. So many people donโt even read the bag- itโs worth it! We still love this food! *************************************** I have a 6 year old Golden Retriever and a 10 month old Golden...and 3 kids! I have been looking for a food that I could feed them both for convenience but wanted a good quality food. All the reviews about diarrhea made me a little nervous because my Golden's tend to have sensitive tummy but they have been on this food for over 2 months and we have had NO problem! Their stools are normal. Also, my older Golden has perked up and is acting younger and like she has more energy! I already give her Dasuquin supplement for joints but she was just down and not active even with that. After starting this food she's like a new dog! The price is simply UNBEATABLE! At our local PetCo the 30lb bag is $45 and with Subscribe and Save you get the 44lb bag for $46!! For both my Golden's the 44lb bag lasts a full month. Hope this helps. We are very pleased and I hope Amazon keeps this on S&S permanently!

One of the better options at this price point
So my two dogs (7 and 8) seem to love this stuff and have been on it for years. We had to switch one of our dogs to raw fed as she she was having trouble with kidney stones and lack of moisture in her diet. She still really likes this stuff though and always wants a cheeky treat now and then. Its still a good go to for training purposes, or a quick reward. Our other dog eats this only, and is a happy camper, healthy coat, always playing. We searched a long time looking for a decent kibble that wasn't crazy money and still was healthy enough. This brand is on the "lower" end of the "best you can get" but is solid choice and consistent. For the money I think is one of the best you can get without spending over a hundred bucks a bag. We get the 44lb bag and it last our 50-60lb pooch nearly 2 months. With the cost of everything these days spiraling out of control, its decent value for a pretty decent kibble option. I have looked into switching it up, but i honestly cant find anything that compares to the quality and price ratio.

HUGE COST SAVINGS FOR QUALITY
UPDATE: Blown away by the product and seller again. I ordered the 44lb bag late on Saturday, it shipped late Sunday, and was just delivered to my door today, MONDAY. It wasn't supposed to get here till Wednesday but surprise!!! I am so happy with this seller and product I could go on and on. My boys were so happy to get their food (they were living on pumpkin for the day lol). We will be Canidae consumers for life I believe! I have a 9 month old Standard Poodle and a 1.5 year old Toy Poodle. I had them on Blue Buffalo from the very beginning which was great and they loved it but was very expensive (24-34lb bag was the price of this 44lb bag and only last a month if that). Plus my Standard, poor big boy, had horrible potty problems for a loooong time. Horrible gas, runny stool. And by horrible gas I mean I would gag every night. My poor toy poodle got hit directly in the face with a fart one night and started literally flailing around like he had been sprayed with pepper spray...to which I followed in the same manner about 10 seconds later. But noooow, after having them on this food for two months, his stool is muuuuuch better (also thanks to some meds) and his farts are NOT nearly as often or as smelly as they were. Actually they're just little pfffts without the hot stench. THANK JESUS!!! Anyway, back to the food. This stuff is great! At first they were slow to eating it, but quickly started to gobble it up. BUT they eat MUCH LESS of this than the Blue Buffalo they used to scarf down. Between two dogs, this lasts me pretty much two months! So it ends up only being like $27 a month for high quality dog food. YOU CAN'T BEAT THAT! It fills them up, they have regular potty movements, no more stinky farts, and great coats. I say give this stuff a try!

Dog and I Agree - A Great Product
As a young puppy, our white German Shepherd had a real propensity for eating disgusting stuff animal byproducts he found in our yard (we live in a wooded rural area). As puppies generally have very undeveloped immune systems, he was almost continuously infected with this or that parasite, and on antibiotics and other antimicrobials for the infections. We tried several different foods for him as a result of his gastric issues, and our vet put him on a daily powdered pro-biotic. The latter worked pretty well at giving him what his own immune system didn't have, but I had to make sure that I never ran out of it, and it wasn't cheap. He didn't like the bland (name-brand) food he was on, and as a result, would only eat when he couldn't hold out any longer. I decided a change needed to happen, both for him and for my wallet. As probably a lot of pet owners do, I did a pretty exhaustive review of dog foods. Because it is apparently hip now, MANY dog foods have protein levels that are considerably higher than foods actually need. Depending on the dog, at a certain point, these high protein levels can be hard on the kidneys. At 24%, Canidae's Life Stage's food is certainly not low on protein. 24% seems to be right around the 'sweet spot'. I like that about it, I like all the other ingredients, and I really like the fact that it has several probiotics added to it (I discontinued his powdered supplement). Yes, my dog's immune system is probably stronger now due to his age, but I think it's good for him to have these probiotics anyway. AND, the huge, final consideration is that he really likes the food, and tends to eat it right away. What else can I say?

Switched from Iams and Haven't Looked Back
I switched to Canidae All Life Stages after two out of three consecutive bags of Iams made all three of my dogs mysteriously ill and caused kidney damage in my oldest. I have three Australian Shepherds and they are like children to my wife and I, so when we were making the switch we did a lot of research. DogFoodAdvisor rates Canidae All Life Stages as a 4 out of 5 stars, and the first three ingredients are meat meal (very high in protein) and not meat byproduct meal and corn like Iams. At the time we started feeding Canidae we had two adults and a senior dog, and all of them did very well. They were very sick when we switched them off of Iams (read my review of Iams Proactive Health Minichunks for that story, and immediately felt better after a day of eating Canidae. They maintain good weight, high energy levels (even the senior), have shiny coats, good breath, firm stools, and shed less than they did with Iams, which is everything I would expect from a quality food. All of the dogs also seem to really like the taste. After my oldest Aussie passed away we got a new puppy (another Australian Shepherd of course). He was being fed DIamond which I wasn't enamored with, and so I switched him over to Canidae All Life Stages as well. You do have to feed puppies more per weight than adult dogs, but he is also doing very well on it. He likes it so much that I use it as a training aid, and instead of eating his dinner from a bowl, he gets his entire meal out of my hand as we work on obedience. I get to train without paying for extra treats (and unnecessary calories), he gets a mental work-out to help tire him out, and he is learning that humans putting their hands in his food bowl is a very positive thing, so it is a win-win-win.

my 13 year old Stafforshire Terrier (a member of the Pit bull breed) had a terrible problem with gas and was losing her hair and
Marley, my 13 year old Stafforshire Terrier (a member of the Pit bull breed) had a terrible problem with gas and was losing her hair and had become sluggish and bloated. I took her to the vet thinking it was her thyroid, but 500$ and a clean bill of health later, the vet said she was just very old for a dog her size. The vet said it might be her diet that was causing her bloat and foul smelling farts (these farts were 10 times worse than your run-of -the mill foul dog fart) so I switched from dog chow, benefuls, to diamond, and finally to pedigree (all of this was done slowly and over the course of a few months) But the farting continued and got so bad that she no longer was welcome in my bedroom at night because the farts were so horrific smelling that they would wake me from a dead sleep. I had to have her outside more often than not because it was affecting my families ability to be in the same room with her and it was breaking my heart that her gas frequency had become so bad that she couldn't even be around us. Her hair continue to fall out and the hair that was shaved when the vet removed a skin tag, had still not grown back after 6 months. After another search for dog food, I found this brand. After reading the reviews, which some honestly sounded too good to be true, I went ahead and pulled the trigger despite the higher cost. I can honestly say this was the best money I've ever spent. I've had this dog food for 4 weeks now and I can't remember the last time she farted. She even snuck into my room last night to sleep and I didn't realize she was in the bed until I woke up this morning. Her hair that had been all but gone from her thighs, nose, and belly has grown back and the bald spot from the biopsy site is almost completely grown in. Her coat has a shine to it, she is looking leaner and no longer looks bloated, plus she has a spring in her step that I haven't seen in a couple of years. She even went on a long hike in the mountains with me and had the energy to keep up. If it weren't for the grey hair on her nose you never would think she was a 12 year old dog. I'm a believer in this dog food and now understand that diet can make all the difference in a dog's health- I always thought it was just a gimmick used to sell dog food. I now have this as a subscription delivery and will be feeding Marley and all my future dogs this brand of dog food! Thank you, Canidae, for giving me my clean smelling house back!

disappointed
I was very surprized at the size of this product which I am otherwise familiar with and have used for years. My original review was not allowed as it may have used a word that rhymed with pram. Please read the description very very carefully.
