This thing is sharp, I’m somewhat new to filleting fish so a long blade with slow slices still helps me fillet fast and close!! Sharpen regularly, of course don’t ever put this in the dishwasher and it should last. Plenty of flexibility on the blade so you can get those weird angles

I use this knife for many many stripers and large fish. It works great. Yes it needs sharpening at times but all knives do. Over all great quality and weight and grip.

Coated blade with as plastic sheath. Sheath uses 2 locking tabs on each side of handle to securely keep it attached to blade but it’s somewhat awkward to uncouple both at the same time. Its sharp to start and easily skin a 8” wide fillet and while its a long blade, I could do more detailed bloodline meat removal since it’s so sharp…normally I use a smaller blade for control. Rubber grip is sized well for my medium hand size. Have not used the steel yet but it is shorter and thinner than our Henkel sharpening steel for size comparison..it seems ok.

Glad I have a glove for when I am Filleting fish. Cause you need it with this. It is extremely sharp and works wonderfully well. Strongly made and should last a long time. Another great product by Kast King!
