Baby girl is obsessed
These were our first Orbeez branded water beads but we had a different brand before these so I couldn’t help but compare them. These arrived ready to go, so no leaving them in water to grow. I don’t know how they compare to the Orbeez that you need to set in water, but our generic brand actually expanded better than these. In my attached picture, the red is the generic brand, the green in the marble green from this set and the white is the glow in the dark from this set. The glow in the dark beads are tiny compared to the others. Now while these are smaller than the generics that I had to soak in water before use, these feel a touch sturdier. If we squeeze these and the generics at the same basic pressure, the generics will break first.Bottom line though? My toddler loves these and the generics the same. The plastic containers that they came in are pretty nice. Would make great small storage boxes when they outgrow the water beads .Could be ideal for pencils and the like.

cool colors and variety but unsure about these in the big picture
As a "toy", these are fun to play with and squish. I like this variety pack with different colors There's a glow in the dark one, a marbled one, shimmer, etc. The different varieties make these fun to look at visually as well. The different varieties come separate in different containers, foil sealed, and ready to be played with as soon as you open the foil seal - no water or waiting time needed!I left them in bowl overnight and woke up to the Orbeez still in the same shape and size. I've read that it will dry up if left out in the hot sun but otherwise it should last weeks. The Orbeez itself has good water retention. This is basically the stuff they would put in a potted plant to help moisten the soil and you won't have to water the plant as often. Supposedly you can use these in plants as well, so I'm thinking of dumping these on my plants once my little one is done playing. Please still use caution when letting your kids play with these. I did some research on these things and they are plastic (it also says that on this page next to "Material"), so hopefully all kids know NOT to ingest these. I did read some horror stories but of course it is mostly due to playing with these incorrectly and misusing it. However, kids are curious and sometimes test the boundaries, so it is understandable, which is why I watch my little one like a hawk when he was playing with this. These can easily bounce off the bowl or surface you are playing this on so make sure to clean up properly and make sure none of these stray - assuming your kids know the rules, pets don't and might accidentally eat these.I've also read that these are actually NOT biodegradable. They will break down to smaller pieces but doesn't completely disappear, since it is made from plastics. I don't know how true the information I read is but if I were just to go off my instincts, I don't think these are very good for the environment. It kind of reminds me of the plastic beads in face scrubs, very little but adds up and wreaks havoc on the environment. I could be wrong, but I don't want to contribute to the possibility.Overall I think these are great for sensory play and as I was playing with my little one, I enjoyed it as well. However, this is one of those toys that I would need to constantly supervise when in play, not something I feel comfortable for independent play. We have a dog at home so overall this just becomes too much of a danger. I do like this set and the variety but going forward I'm not sure I will be repurchasing.

Our Favorite Water Beads, Ready To Use, In Nice Storage Containers.
Our Favorite Water Beads, Ready To Use, In Nice Storage Containers. I love that they have already to go, come in their own storage containers and have differnt features… Marbled, Glow In The Dark, Shimmer. These are larger that some of our generic brand beads that came with other toys. We are using these with our Orbeez Toys, that we use in the home, and saved the generic ones for the Water Bead Guns and more of the outside toys.Everyone here loves Orbeez, it is fun to find ones that area ready to go, and come with their own containers. I had been using a large Tupperware Bowl to store them in.We love that they are fun fun to play with, non-toxic and not harmful to the environment. They were actually used first in agriculture, to help keep plants watered. We love using them in sensory toys and games, in vases with flowers, for crafts. I think the glow in the dark ones, are everyone’s favorites.

Awesome Refill Set or Standalone Fun
This is a cool variety pack with glow in the dark (they really do glow well, shimmer, and marble. They are incredibly fun and last a long time if you store them properly back in their container. When your Orbeez are done, the containers are really nice to reuse. They are stackable and seal well.We have a lot of Orbeez sets and these refills are critical considering my kid keeps grinding her Orbeez into a gelatinous paste. One of her Orbeez sets includes a plunger which obliterates the Orbeez and my child then makes piles to cut or roll out flat. Obviously with this destruction, we need Orbeez refills on the regular. We have used the pouches that look like seed packets - you have to put them in water and wait upward of 12 hours for them to fully form. These refills are already fully formed and ready to go.
