They are strong but I wish they are more finer size available. They should also provide some information possible size when mixed in water.

Can work well in demonstrating a magnetic field pattern.
When a small amount is added to a nearly full mineral oil (higher viscosity) bottle and shaken, the fine particles iine up perfectly with even regions of the weak magnetic field of a magnet that is held steady on the outside (allow the filings to settle slowly). Striking demonstration, especially for kids -as well as adults !
