Miracle worker for infant colic
Our 2 month old baby had horrible colic for the first 6 weeks for her life, especially during weeks 3-4. She would cry incessantly for hours. When we spoke to the doctors, they informed us that this was most likely "colic" a phenomenon for which they really do not have an explanation, that many children go through and for which we do not have any cure or treatment. We did our research through medical journals and mommy blogs alike and came across a recommendation for gripe water. Mommy's Bliss is a well known and trusted company, so we tried this. Thus far it has done an incredible job. While the instructions allow several administrations per day, we give her 1ml (through the provided syringe) first thing in the morning, then once in the afternoon and once at bedtime. It has not only helped her to remain calm, but it also has reduced her spit up. I am not sure what it tastes like - I haven't tried it, but she seems to like it.It is important to mention here at gripe water is NOT FDA approved. What does that mean? That means that gripe water, in any form, sold by any company, does not go through the rigorous testing for ingredients or efficacy that the FDA requires. And so, every bottle may be different and have varying safety profiles. There is certainly some risk, however, with our baby crying hours as a time, we had to try something and we were very happy that this worked.

Helps my baby for sure!
My pediatrician recommended gripe water to us after Mylicon wasn't doing anything for my daughter's gas. She said Mylicon doesn't work, period, not for the kind of gas babies have. We have practically used this since my daughter was born, and she is 7 months old now. This didn't come with a dropper before so it was difficult to measure it out and give to a baby, but it comes with a dropper now, which makes this a 5 star product. My daughter gulps it down, she gets excited when she sees the bottle. She has never made a face about the taste being bad, which is a huge plus because a lot of medicines taste awful for babies. I think this helps her immensely, she would calm down after being upset and gassy only a few minutes after taking this. At one point we were giving it to her before bed every night and it was helping her sleep for a longer stretch, and I would give it to her in the middle of the night sometimes, too. The bottle does say to discard it a month after opening, which is a good thing to know before buying it in case you don't think you will use it all. My friend uses this for her 7 week old and it helps his gas, too.

Worth a try! Keep it close by.
Our son was not a great sleeper during his first year. He would regularly cry uncontrollably in the middle of the night. The gripe water was easy to drink for him and it would calm him down about half of the time we gave it to him...which was still good enough for us. Any help is much appreciated when you're sleep-deprived parents of an inconsolable crying baby at 4am. For all of you parents of colicky, crying, babies... this product might help. And if it doesn't... just know that people always say, "it gets better" for a reason. It certainly got better for us.Update: We’re on our second child now and “oh joy...another child that isn’t great at sleeping!” Maybe it’s us, maybe it isn’t. Regardless, we’re back to using gripe water. We keep it nearby for when he wakes up in the middle of the night. For the most part, we think it’s helping. And even if it’s just a few more minutes of much-deprived sleep, it’s worth it.

Best brand of gripe water
My baby has reflux and I was using mommy's bliss gripe water and a prescription from the doctor for Zantac to treat. At some point my husband got another brand of gripe water and I didn't think anything of it. We continued buying that brand because it was a little cheaper and we've been using so much of it. Her eating got worse over the next few weeks and I wasn't sure why. I upped her Zantac dose, was extra careful with my diet, etc., etc., and nothing seemed to help. I happened to buy the mommy's bliss gripe water again and literally 30 minutes after the first dose she was eating WAY better. It was so noticeable that I realized it must be the brand of gripe water. Will only be buying Mommy's Bliss from here on out! I will say their medicine dropper is awful. They should replace with a medicine syringe.

Great for Hiccups
My son was diagnosed with reflux and has awful trapped gas fairly often. His doctor recommended trying gripe water over prescription meds, so we did.We have been using this product for a couple of months (since my son was born practically) and I can’t say that it helps with gas at all, and it doesn’t do a whole lot for reflux either, but it does help with hiccups! It is the only thing that will stop my son’s hiccups and that in itself is a godsend, because he gets them so often and they usually bug him because his reflux makes them painful.I also love the dropper. It’s easy to use, easy to read, and easy to clean!Pros-Great for stopping hiccups, you don’t even need to use the full dose to do so-Baby happily drinks it, it has a sweet taste-Dropper is super easy to use and read, and it comes apart so it’s easy to clean!-Safe for newborns, doctor approvedCons-Does nothing for gas, colic, or reflux-Oil like consistency makes it messy and gross when it’s spilled, spit up, or even if you just get a little bit of it somewhere-Short shelf life -Needs to be replaced if it’s been open for 6 weeksI’ll keep buying it as long as my son has painful hiccups, but it’s not really the miracle juice other people make it out to be
