Works great on several wood varieties, but others not so much.
Works amazing on knurled walnut countertops, walnut knife handles, zebra-wood, red oak, and Brazilian walnut. However I tried it on knurled maple and it hardly took at all, even with sanding and water brush application. Granadillo, and blood wood went well and gave it a richer color, poplar though did not seem to take well. Unfortunately I failed to keep pictures of the red oak and poplar. The product is made from citrus and tung oil and rated safe for food surfaces such as counters and cutting boards, and looks great on the walnut countertops. I love the citrus scent but it can be overpowering and I would recommend that you use the product with an open window or well vented area. One quart will go a long way, however pending on the porosity of the wood that may vary. On the countertops I used 4-5 coats and used about a gallon over all, re using the used lint free cloths on the consecutive coats helped. Knife handles made from knurled walnut and other woods worked very well and gave an almost iridescent tiger's eye appearance. In all I recommend the product if you dislike harsh chemicals, but some woods may have results that are less than desirable.

Easy to use and looks great on butcher block counter
Love this stuff! This is the second butcher block counter we are finishing with this. It last a long time and is a gorgeous dark color to match our modern type farmhouse vibe. Smells good and easy to use.

Excellent Product and So Simple to Use
I used this product as part of my original butcher block finish. It has held up amazingly well despite exposure to water from the sink, steam from the dishwasher, and our general kitchen chaos with young kids and such. We are at the six month mark so I added a coat today for maintenance. The scent is pleasant and I love being able to apply it mid-winter when windows canโt be opened. I ran the kitchen exhaust fan for about 20 minutes but the scent is light enough that I likely would not have needed to do even that. The maintenance coat took a few minutes to absorb into the surface, which tells me the original process worked exactly as it was intended to. I wiped off the excess, took the rag outside, and we will leave it alone for the day. I wish you could feel the texture of this butcher block with this finish. It is not shiny once dry/cured, but has a lovely matte finish with a really neat feel to it. Extremely easy to clean with a cloth wet with warm water and dish soap. Food spills do not penetrate nor stain nor stick to it. This product made it easy for me to have the wood counter top I wanted for our island. I couldnโt be happier.

It works great. Need 2weeks drying time
This product works great! Bought smaller one to test it out then larger one because it works great. I used on butcher block counter top two weeks before it was installed. I told my contractor I would stain and seal it myself. Very easy application. Just needed about two weeks to get all the coats on and for them to dry so I could get it wet. I did this in the summer in my garage. The heat aided in the drying time. Love the dark color. Bought this 6 months ago and still looks beautiful

Great product
Used this for sealing our butcher block countertops. This is really easy to apply and, really brings out the beauty in the wood. For the price you really canโt beat it. It goes a long way for sure. It really made a huge difference in the looks of our countertops, Iโll gladly reapply this once a year or when I need to do some touch up work.

Amazing Product
Extremely impressed with this product! It was very easy to apply and though strong, smelled great! RM had great customer service and very quickly responded to a question I had regarding mixing the half dark tung with an oil based stain. I learned that dark tung maintains its durability when mixed with an oil based stain with 1 part stain and 4 parts tung oil. So happy I was able to achieve the color I was looking for on my Hevea butcher block.

Great coverage. A bit darker than I wa hoping for.
I bought this to coat a 20ร36 butcherblock pastry board. After watching many videos on what to use as a protectant I decided on this tung oil. It shipped to me quick. I set up the board and did 7 coats each one day apart. The half dark absorbed nicely into the butcher block, and it was dry to the touch the next day. After the 7th day I left it in the garage for another week because it was giving off a faint odor. Not really unpleasant, but i knew my wife wouldnt have any of that. That dissapated after a few days. I set it up on the counter where it will be a permanent fixture. It is a bit darker than I wanted, more of a dark doe. I was hoping for something a bit more tawny. It will work. It seems to do a good job protecting the butcher block. Water doesn't soak in. I'd do it again if needed.
