A thoughtful biography on an important American Rabbi
After reading Alex Goldman's The Greatest Rabbis Hall of Fame my interest was piqued by his section on Rabbi Max Lilienthal. To my surprise I cam across this book. It is well researched, thorough and fills in the blanks on Rabbi Max Lilienthal's life and adventures. Rabbi Lilienthal worked hand in glove (according to a Rabbi who spoke at my temple) with Rabbi Wise to create the Reform movement. So if you are curious about the origins of the Reform movement in America, this book should be of interest to you. It was a very easy read and quite entertaining as well. Give it a try and learn some history as well.
