Threads of Chaos: Book of the South

It took some work to get started but moved quickly afternoons the first 50 pages. The fellow is a writer with a grasp of the language and a gift.

Gordy draws you into the gritty world with well crafted descriptions and a complex backdrop of world development. It starts off rather heavy with lots of description and little else, but after you get a few chapters in the characters begin to shine and the mystery unfold. By chapter 10 things start picking up and by 20 I was hooked. I'll update this review when I've finished reading, but so far the world's magic system and cultures are fascinating, the descriptions are practically poetry in places, and there's a diverse range of relationships all within an apocalypse that's still unfolding.
