Scholastic Rotten Romans

Gave this to my nephew for a Birthday present and he absolutely loved it!

This new layout and font size is so much better! Old version was too small and had too much crammed onto one page, which could be off putting for a younger reader. Content was wacky and fabulously interesting.

Our eldest daughter (Year 4) is currently studying the Romans at school and this book has been a great extra boost in terms of learning about a topic she now loves.We have a few of the Horrible History books and they are always well received and make the topic both fun and accessible. The illustrations, the interesting way of delivering facts (e.g. spoof news articles) and the balance of humour and facts seems to hit the mark well.The only warning I would give is to be careful of your child is very 'literal'. Our youngest daughter (7) has also started reading this book and came to me to tell me an "amazing fact", it wasn't a fact, it was a joke in the book - she doesn't get the subtle difference between the two and the book doesn't always make it clear!

Passing great knowledge to my Grandkids in a fun way!!!

My son loves reading this book as his also learning about romans at school.
