I wanted to love these glass canisters with bamboo tops. I was so excited when I opened the box because these really are beautiful and the size was perfect for what I needed, storage of dry goods like flour, beans, rice etc. The thickness of the canisters were okay not too thin but you still have to be careful while handling them. That was the good. Now for why I gave only one star and had to return these. There was a really really bad smell when I opened the box. It smelled like acetone or some sort of nail polish remover. I figured the smell would go away after washing and drying these in the dishwasher. It did not. So I washed again and dried and it seemed to help so I put the bamboo lids on and let them sit for a day to see if there was any smell before I put food items inside them. after a day I opened them and the horrible smell was back. The worse part was that the smell was trapped inside the canisters so to my disappointment I couldn't put any food items inside these. Totally useless. I had to return these for a refund. I don't understand why this item is allowed to be sold when it's coming into contact with items you will eventually consume. Anyway totally disappointed.I updated my review to 4 stars because the seller reached out to me with outstanding customer service and tried to rectify the situation.

The lids are extremely cheap and do not have a good seal, I immediately returned.

Love these glass jars with bamboo lids! I was using plastic containers before for my lentils but this just made such a difference! They are tall and slim so they don't take up much space and the bamboo lids are airtight to keep the food inside fresh. It came with a nice sponge brush with a handle which made cleaning them very easy. They are also pretty lightweight. Only thing Im unsure about is how strong they are. They are made of glass but not the very thick kinds which don't shatter when dropped. Regardless, they'll give an elegant look to any kitchen pantry.

The jars are pretty good with the exception of one of the lids which came damaged. It looks like its covered in dried up glue and dirt. I tried scrubbing it off but it wouldn't come out.The rest of the lids were fine and I really like the jars. They are light weight but sturdy. The lids have a rubber gasket that keeps a good seal. Overall, the quality is great - apart from that one lid. I hope this was a one off and I just received a dud.

Got these to store some cereal and oats and granola in for easier access on the counter. They are made solid and look really nice.
