I bought it as a diaper bag and a preschool backpack for my toddler. It’s boxier in shape than some backpacks, which makes it surprisingly spacious on the inside. Plenty of room for diapers, wipes, snacks, a spare set of clothes, a lovey, and some small entertainment like markers and a pad of paper. The two features that set it apart from other backpacks for small people is the chest clip which actually keeps it on a toddler and the mesh side pockets. I’ve had a lot of backpacks (many adult sized!) with mesh side pockets that were either too small to get a water bottle in or would end up tearing through after a few uses. These mesh side pockets you can fit a full adult sized canteen and the elastic is very strong but also very stretchy. They are also on both sides so you can have two water bottles.
