It was comfortable and did not feel bulky. I read another review that I needed to be careful about sitting on rough surfaces because the fabric would pill afterwards, so I stayed in the pool... but I guess even the surfaces IN the pool were too rough because I only sat on the ledges inside the pool, and after one use the fabric is pilled all over in the back. It looks terrible now, but it did its job.
