Easy terrain solution for gaming
Bought the trading camp for use in Necromunda. This arrived yesterday afternoon and is now fully built and ready for use within a couple of hours of landing on my doorstep. I was looking for terrain for gaming. I had looked at plastic terrain, it would look better and be more hard wearing but would require a bigger investment in time to get it on the table and costs a lot more. MDF terrain is reasonably priced but again takes time to build and paint to get it on the table. I enjoy painting miniatures but never enjoy painting terrain, tried building my own terrain from videos online but just wasn’t happy with the end result. The card in this set is good quality, there were two parts I rushed slightly and the outer laminate started to come loose but it glued back down and there is no visible damage. The online video with assembly instructions was easy to find and follow. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to spend more time gaming, it’s quick, easy and good value. I will definitely be getting more of this to fill out a bigger table.

Scenery for other space
Science fiction, or a near future war zone. I bought it for Stargrave a deser a bombed shipyard or a fight to occupy an asteroid perhaps some nutty slack if you can scounge some black rock will always look good for the floor of these items. Don’t get any on the carpet 😡

Know what you are getting
As a miniature painter and wargamer, I don't think that I am the target audience for this product. I am used to hard plastic terrain that is fairly robust. I decided to try the Battlesystems as it appeared to be good value. First of all there are no instructions provided, apparently a conscious decision made by the company. This would be okay if the build was intuitive but this isn't always the case e.g. one building requires the shelving to be in place to hold it together, which I found out by watching a YouTube tutorial by the company. Even following this, my version barely resembled theirs. I found that some of my models self destructed while I was struggling to put them together, the front peeling away. The large storage containers looked okay but are not really big enough for most of the 28-32mm figures that I generally use. If I got them in, there was a danger that it would fall apart again. The ruined alien catacombs was pretty easy to put together and may get some use as background. To be fair to Battlesystems, this is designed to use with Core Space, which I know little about and probably works really well with that? Also, I haven't put cardboard models together since about 1970 and I wasn't very good at it then!? And if it works for you, it is really good value. Just not for me.

I struggled a bit as I was a newbie but once I found the video it was easy
Easy to assemble , strong enough to stand a model on . Good value and with the necromunda market looks really good

Overpriced printed cardboard
Value for money is definitely not there. The terrain itself is quite cool and well thought out but £50 for a handful of sheets of printed cardboard to me is far too overpriced, much better off investing in a 3d printer which are quite affordable these days and just printing my own terrain, I expected much more quality for £50. To assemble there are no instructions so I had to find the instructions/tutorial on YouTube, the printed surface usually ends up tearing off the cardboard when slotting things together making for a cheap looking panel, as well as the pieces not all lining up properly or laser cut properly ending up with bent or deformed sides. The ruins were also not very well designed, I like the idea of it being modular and can be assembled in any way you want but the finished quality of the fastening clips is poor, using plastic clips to hold the walls together seems very lazy when you could have designed it so they slot together using an inside mechanic to hide it, adding to the realism. For me the plastic clips ruin the look of it. Overall very disappointed and was a waste of £50, I've made the same terrain pieces, and even better buildings/scenery by reusing cardboard boxes (Amazon, shoe boxes etc), scissors and sellotape...

Fine at half price, wouldn't buy at full price
Managed to get this on a 60% off day, and it's OK. The scale is 25mm, and that what the play mat grid is scaled to. So no good for Warhammer. But the rest of the terrain is usable, although half the kit is ruined terrain, which has weird rules under 40k 10th edition. I was expecting more trader camp items and less random rubble. Despite being super careful, a few of the cardboard pieces split when bending. A lot of the pieces have marks from where theys come out of the board as they are never fully punched and leave little stubs on all the edges. Can't file them off either or you'll damage the printed bits. Some of the printed layers ripped when putting things together for the time, so much so I've decided I won't be flat packing the containers. And flat pack storage was one of the things that attracted me to this. The video on their website tutorials section is good, and the only way to find out how to put these together. There are no written instructions. The alien terrain pieces aren't all interchangeable as the video claims and there isn't even a suggested layout that doesn't make you have to go buy other kits. At the £20 I paid, I'm ok with the flaws and I can make it work. I'll probably enjoy using the pieces for Starfinder or some other space RPG too. At full price, I'd give it a miss and buy something not made of cardboard

Apocalyptic Cardboard
I needed some Scifi buildings for a project; and these were an inexpensive & quick option. The graphic design and print quality is very good. Neoprene mat looks the part and useful in many cases. Unfortunately the limitations of cardboard become quickly apparent. The alien ruins are a morass of pieces that do not assemble well; and the scaffold assembly is pug ugly too. These went in the bin rather rapidly tbh. The containers and container-style human buildings work well, much more suited to the limits of the material selection. The square human building is decidedly ugly when finished, and will probably be following the ruins. Assembly Instructions are relegated to lengthy youtube videos. On balance, I got what I needed out of this kit but you do get what you pay for.

Great terrain!
Whether you need it for miniature combat or delving into a sci-fi world for a roleplaying game. This terrain is sturdy, durable, and great quality. I had a little struggle figuring out how to put it together at first until I saw there are online assembly videos. Great design and detailed which was nice.

Great value for a great set.
I wasn’t expecting this set to be as great as it is for the price. Only 60 bucks and it come with more than enough terrain bits to play full 2000 points games of 40K with. The mat is a super nice bonus and makes for a great 500 point game or a kill team board. I’m very happy with this set and will definitely buy more from battle systems in the future. Just be carful folding some of the half cuts, the cardboard can tear, and the only instructions are on YouTube which is kind of annoying but not the end of the world. But other than those two issues I’m very happy with this set, and it has some great little detail pieces that add personality.

Mixed bag of goodies and quality.
I'm torn on this review. The trader stuff is very nice and once assembled looks great. But I banged my head against the wall trying to build it until I found the review above me saying you must watch their build tutorial on their website. Do that, especially if this is your first product of theirs like this was mine. It's not super durable stuff too so be gentle with it when removing from the sprew and assembling. Honestly I recommend a little super glue as well and so do they to ensure it stays pristine and looks good. What has me most torn was the alien portion was essential Legos. Tons of random mismatched pieces they throw at you as say go crazy assembling. It uses their plastic connectors to do so which appear jarring and are easily visable when the ruins are completed. They also have tons of points to connect the pieces so if you don't use that slot it's just a open slice that looks tacky. After doing some correctly I tried gluing it together instead and using that TONS of rubble they give you with some glue to cover some spots and reinforce points and that looked better. They don't provide enough plastic connectors in my opinion anyway. Need more L shaped ones for sure. I would by their human sci-fi stuff again now that I understand it. I won't by their alien terrain pieces again though.
