PORTER-CABLE PCC606LA 20-volt Max Lithium Ion Drill Driver, 1/2-Inch

I have to say, I'm am very satisfied with the beating this drill has been able to withstand, I originally purchased it just to make quick work with screwing and unscrewing, but then I said: "ahhh what the hell, I paid for it, lets use it"and so far so good, I have used it for the typical screwing and unscrewing , drilling holes through wood and plastic, mixing paint with a paint mixer, and I have given the poor drill a beating using the paint mixer to mix cement, water and sand and its done it like a pro. I have done it since I bought the drill (2 to 3 times a day, 2 to 3 days a week) and it hasn't burned out or overheated or anything weird like that, you can sometimes smell a burned type of smell but that has been there since I unboxed it and pressed the trigger the first time, of course that type of use does eat through the battery quite fast, the mixing of the mortar takes only a few minutes with the drill to get it to a paste like consistency and I would say on one charge I could do 4 to 5 mixings of an almost full 5 gallon bucket, I have 2 batteries I use (one belongs to a cordless nail gun from PC).Everything else about the drill is good.I accidently dropped it once from waist height (I'm 5'8") battery didn't come off or anything thankfully, so in my case I could say it holds on pretty good. When not giving it the heavy use with the mortar above mentioned the battery life does last pretty long, I have used a full battery for only screwing and unscrewing and it holds charge for days, and when used lightly for drilling wood its only slightly less. The drill feels pretty comfortable and sturdy and it is conveniently small to fit in to tight spaces, the light it has I haven't had much use for, but it does light up enough to help out with a screw in the dark. I haven't had any issues with the reverse switch and I'm able to press it with one hand easily, and the magnet for the bit on the top is strong enough it doesn't fall off when I'm doing everything else with the drill, I even have used it to hold 4 to 5 screws on it no problem.My only complaint is that they should have at least included a nylon carry bag, and it would be the perfect drill, it wont affect my rating but apart from that if it happens to start showing signs of wear and tear not indicative of the use I'm giving it I will edit the review to let you guys know.

My uses for a cordless drill range from small DIY projects to heavy needs like remodeling/additions/decking etc..This drill is a nice size. It's compact but not too small. It has a really nice feeling grip that holds very well and is extremely lightweight with the lithium battery. As for the battery, I have found that it takes around 45 min to get a full charge which is really good. The battery lasts around 4 hours which isn't bad but that time can increase or decrease depending on the workload and settings.So far I have used the drill with 3 inch deck screws, drilling through concrete, and 1/2" carriage screws into studs and I have not had any problems at all. I actually am really surprised at the power!I will definitely recommend this product to other people and will more than likely be buying Porter-Cable again for other tools just because how well made this drill is!PROS: Lightweight, durable, great feel, POWERFUL, long battery life, quick battery charge, good setting optionsCONS: There really aren't any other than not having a level built in (but I knew that prior to purchase)UPDATE: I am almost a year in with this drill now and I can honestly say that this is the best drill I have ever owned. There is no lag time in response from the trigger pull and the power is incredible. The durability is the real star of the show - I have used it pretty heavily and it had showed no signs of slowing down. I 100% recommend this drill.

This is a very powerful drill! It's not quite as powerful as my corded skil drill (Roughly 700 watts = about 1 hp). It has a speed and a torque setting with the speed being the most used for me. The power is not to be balked at as this is more powerful than the dewalt drill I was eyeing. The led would be better located at the base of the drill aimed up towards the chuck, but it works fine where it is at. Yes it sort of looks like a lego, however it has a nice weight and feels very solid! The battery lasts quite a bit longer than my cheapie nicad drill I used to use. I'm confident I could easily build a deck or a very large shed with this and a couple batteries with a fast charger (Found the fast charger locally for about $25). This drill has gone above and beyond my expectations with the speed and power. The battery lasts plenty long for me and I just charge it once a week after I'm done with my woodworking projects etc. You won't be disappointed, buy this drill!

Nice drill. Overall a quality product with plenty of power and battery life. Well balanced and easy to use.There is only one thing that keeps me from giving it a 5 star rating.....and that the slight lack of precision. What I mean by that is the drillbit spin. There is a slight wobble. The wobble is in the chuck, not the drillbit.....you can see the wobble when triggering it without any bit in the chuck. It's not a big enough wobble to have much of and effect on the performance of the tool, but irritating none the less. I guess I was expecting it to be perfectly smooth.I don't want this to sound like I didn't like the drill, because I do....and I would purchase it again. I just wish it was smoother.Overall a very nice drill for the money.
