Franklin Sensors ProSensor M70 Stud Finder with 7-Sensors, Wood & Metal Stud Detector/Wall Scanner, Made in The USA

Needed a good stud sensor to install shower safety bars and towel racks and my old one was very outdated,based on a small magnet. This item is great. It will pick up whatever is behind the wall so I marked 5-10 sites each time to ensure location of the stud. Every install was in a stud so the product works! I like the center green light as well. However many builders use 2 studs side by side so it would be nice to have instructions on how to address this situation. I learned more from experience.

It’s an OK device and seems to work. It’s OK for small jobs

This is a very good sensor, accurate and leaves no doubt in your mind where the stud or the wire is. I was trying to push a 14/2 romex down a double wall, from my attic, and I couldn’t get the wire to pass through the double wall in my house. I feared there was a cross beam blocking the wire so I bought this Franklin Sensor and had Amazon overnight it. What I actually found was all the lights came on solid about 18 inches from the ceiling and stayed solid red for about 6 inches down and then went off. This condition existed across the entire 16”opening between the upright studs in the wall, then dropped off as I went further down the wall. It dawned on me that this mass must be my romex wire hanging up on a ledge in the double wall. I then took my flexible fish stick and fashioned a coat hanger hook to the end and pushed it up the wall, from my newly cut opening for my switch box, then twisted the fish stick around where the stud finder detected the mass in the wall and low and behold the hook grabbed the wire and I pulled it down the wall. I had previously pushed the stick up the wall several times and didn’t detect any cross studs and neither did my stud finder when I used it to the surface of the wall, however this was on the front side of the double wall. I never did find out what was holding up the wire, on the back side of this double wall, but this stud finder showed me exactly where the problem was. I have since used the Franklin Sensor a few times and ran it over known studs and it finds the wood, a 2x4 stud will set off 3 lights and the center light will go solid green over the center of the stud. I highly recommend this tool, it will definitely find wire and wood in your wall and I am reasonably certain it will also find pipes.

Works as intended. Surprisingly decent stud finder for how affordable it is. It doesn’t come with AAA batteries so you’ll have to purchase them separately.

This is the best thing I've bought so far this year. No on/off button - you just hold down the button while you're using it. It finds studs incredibly well. I've tested it on drywall and also on wood paneling and it does great with both. So much better than knocking on the wall. Wish I had bought this years ago!

I have used multiple stud finders before with a LOT of frustration! they would either give an error message or indicate a stud for 12" of wall space. And I NEVER got the same reading with two consecutive passes. This one was clear and consistent and when I used a tiny drill bit to test the results, there was ALWAYS a stud where it said there was. Highly recommend.

J’ai pris ce détecteur de rails de placo un peu par curiosité au départ, et au final je ne peux clairement plus m’en passer. Pour repérer les rails derrière le placo, c’est ultra pratique et ça évite de percer au hasard. Il est simple à utiliser, la détection est rapide et suffisamment précise pour savoir exactement où visser ou percer. Depuis que je l’ai, je gagne du temps et surtout j’évite les erreurs bêtes (mauvais trous, chevilles inutiles, etc.). Que ce soit pour fixer des meubles, des étagères ou faire des passages propres, ça change vraiment la vie. C’est le genre d’outil qu’on ne pense pas forcément à acheter, mais une fois qu’on l’a, on s’en sert tout le temps. Très bon produit, fiable et vraiment pratique au quotidien.

Works better than any stud finder I have used before. Even finds the centre of the stud which gives great confidence . I couldn't use my son's fancy version (neither can he) which was 3 times the price.

Works unsure… keeps flashing different over the same place, so i ended up pulling the fodder off to see the drywall screws and determine where the studs are. Disappointing…

Wir haben nicht die leichtesten Bedingungen (Strohdecke) und trotzdem liegt die Trefferquote bei nahezu 100%. Lediglich vereinzelt lag ich minimal daneben, wobei der Fehler eventuell auch bei mir lag. Auch das Anzeigen der Balkenmitte funktioniert super! Für den Preis 1 mit Sternchen.
