It exhibits high hardness, good toughness, and an excellent edge holding capability. The blade has been hand ground to a fine edge with a thin blade cross-section, and is very sharp. A hair will easily catch on the blade, and it will readily pass the common sharpness test of cleanly slicing newspaper. Damascus steel is forge welded using alternating layers of two materials, high-carbon steel, and low carbon iron. The surface is first polished and then acid etched to reveal a variety of patterns.

Good looking piece - Not for shaving.
I decided to keep it because it’s a piece of art, but this is not for shaving, which was my intended use. Will not remove any stubble.More than worth the price if you’re just looking for a nice looking blade though.

Blade looks great, but I purchased it to actually shave. It is not nearly sharp enough to use as a razor and now I have to pay another service to sharpen the blade. Definitely is costing me more than I initially bargained for.
