DC 12V 35RPM Turbo Worm Geared Motor High Torque Turbine Worm Gear Box Reduction Motor 6mm Shaft JSX255-370

I've used several of these for various projects. They are a nice sturdy little gear motor, available in a wide range of reductions. This 35RPM version gives a LOT of torque at 12V. Easy to mount. Can run forward or reverse by changing polarity of the supply. Because it's a worm gear motor, it locks in place when not powered, so useful for anything where you want it to hold its position when idle. Will buy again when I need more.

Motor after ten hours of operation at 12 v dc began smoking. Using it with a universal joint between drive shaft to precent any misalignment problems when began to over heat. Built this to use on a filament winder but failure was with no load merely driving gears on winder. No binding no problem turning with out motor. Motor just can not run long do to problems with gear box making a lot of noise from the start. Took me a while to test this due to other priorities and no ability to return. I do not suggest this motor for any voltage due to gear box. this was the third motor i have purchased sent one back due to excessive gear box grinding and noise other runs hot but use it with a fifty percent duty cycle to keep from burning up. Vendor recommended changing the power supply to five amps and you can bet if i do this I will use a fast blow fuse as a precaution as I am not sure why this is now required they indicated they would update their description on the motor in Amazon. Vendor was very supportive and recently not only sent me a refund without my requesting it, but is sending me a replacement for evaluation and I will be again updating this review based on the results. They believe that the motor gears were damaged which makes sense as i detected as previous noted oil covering the motor upon receipt. I am increasing the review ranking to three stars based on the response because there is no other way to give a five star ranking on just service as i want to evaluate the motor again.

This motor has been working well but is a bit noisy. According to my cell phone's sound meter app, noise level rises from 40 to 61 decibels, before and after the motor is energized. Still, it appears to be a good value for the cost.

Perfect size, gears work just fine except for one problem. The motor that drives the gears does not turn these gears. When you separate the gears from the motor you discover that the motor has a problem. It makes a humming noise but does not turn the spindle which happens to turn the gears. The motor apparently was not strong enough to survive the shipping stresses. The gears though are very strong and robust. When I find another working motor the gears will do as I need them to do. Sometimes patience is required. The cost of this item is so low that shipping it back and waiting for another to replace it is simply a rediculous notion.

Made an A on my mechanical engineering project. Good torque for the size...

They don't work! I bought two. One Rotates a half turn and locks up, the other makes nearly a whole revolution and shuts down. I unfortunately waited a week too long to try this and missed the return window.

Dead. Less than 3 months old. Return window closed. Trash can.

Ich nutze den Motor für Modellbau. Leider ist er recht laut und das Laufgeräusch ist sehr unangenehm.
