We haven’t had one like this so we gave it a try as a flyer and it turned out to be just about the best knife holder we’ve ever seen. Instead of precut slots it has tiny rods which you can separate with the knife blades and crowd in a lot more knives and you could with the other kind. It’s easy to insert and remove. I chose this particular knife block because of the scissors holder, as that is the one thing missing from mine that would make it perfect.I didn't take these out of the boxes and inspect them, so I didn't actually see the product until I saw it on my niece's countertop. I was shocked at how small hers was compared to mine.
