At first it needs some breaking in but afterwards it moves pretty well. I used it for about two weeks just about ten minutes each day and then one of the handles fell off while I was doing a trick. A small ring part got stuck at the back of my bed and I had to crawl in and get it which took me a few minutes. So here's a note to yourself - don't do tricks when you know that the balisong is going to break apart. Overall the balisong is great and you should buy a specific screwdriver to tighten the loose screws or locktite it which I heard from many but never tried it myself. This practice balisong is a really good choice and I bought the metal silver practice butterfly balisong too which is just as great but a little better in design.

Ive only had the practice blade for two days and one of the screws come loose and i lost it and now the bite handle doesnt stay together. i can still use it but its just not as good as before. still pretty durable though just got to make sure you tighten the screws the first few days of flipping.

I bought this for my son, he was fascinated with my butterfly knife and wanted to learn tricks with it. I didn't want him cutting off all his fingers so I bought him this. I honestly thought it would be junk but it is very high quality. He used this to learn all types of knife tricks. It is weighted like a real knife and you will not cut off all your fingers or accidentally stab the cat.

I definitely should have taken the advice of others on here and taken the screws out and used some locktite or something.. Everything was all fine and good until one of the screws decided to fly out and disappear.. Pros: -Wont lose a finger playing with it -Pretty cheap -Has a nice balanced weight. Cons: -Screws start off way too tight -Screws gradually loosen -Screws fall out mid swing and vanish across the room

This was my first butterfly knife so I didn't know what to expect. At first the product was tight and did not move fluidly at all. I used the product for 4 days and over time it did get looser and easier to open and close. Just as I was beginning to gain skill opening and closing the knife I realized the reason the knife was easier to maneuver was because a screw was becoming loose. Right after I noticed the loose screw it fell out and I cannot put it back in the way it was before. I am very frustrated because this product was more expensive then others. I would recommend looking at the reviews of other practice knives to make sure they do not have the same issues as I would not recommend this product.

You really only have three choices when it comes to practicing new moves with a butterfly knife: Use a practice balisong, find a balisong with a really dull blade, or use a normal balisong and keep a bunch of band-aids nearby. This one took a little bit of tweaking to loosen up, but it serves its purpose of providing a safe way to learn new ways of manipulating a butterfly knife. Let's face it; butterfly knives are cool. I work in a profession where everybody has/needs a knife, and they all have either spring-assisted or push-button opening knives. When I whip out my balisong, it always brings out smiles on everyone's face.

I love this knife ! I just got it and I have been playing with it for hours! one minor issue is one of the handles is to tight so I just put some wd40 on that sucker and it started working great (I would recommend doing that if you get one) but this knife trainer is great quality for the price! 10/10 I would buy it again

I suppose it functioned as advertised, so I'll go with two stars. I did learn the basic open-close moves in a few hours. Unfortunately that's about as long as the product lasted. Six hours after I opened the box, the screw by the safety latch flew off and vanished into thin air (it's tiny). So the trainer is totally useless after about 6 hours of use. While it was working it was great, hefty and machined very cleanly. You could tighten the screws to be safe, but it's some special star-shaped bit.
