The Flight Medic's Guide to Mechanical Ventilation: Resuscitative vent strategies and ABG management for the prehospital provider
J**.
Clear and concise
Breaks down terms and concepts into understandable blocks that build upon themselves. Goes from simple foundational knowledge to clinical applications in the critical patient. Though I'm a flight nurse, I feel now I can at least understand the medics when they throw out all those acronyms and work their wizardry with the vent.😉

So Good
I have been a critical care paramedic for more than 5 years. It is awesome to see a "textbook" explain what I have learned through trial and error over that time. If you are new to critical care, this is the book for you to manage your vent

Recommended!!
Written in the format as if your preceptor is sitting down with you and teaching what you need to know. He explains the concepts quite well (doesn't overcomplicate for no reason), and you can tell he's trained a lot of paramedics on vent management. Highly recommend. Oh, and his podcast is pretty top notch too.

Fantastic!
As someone who’s weeks away from graduating paramedic school and knew nothing about vents this book is amazing! It explains advanced concepts in a simple way like a one on one conversation and has various graphs and charts to help cement the concepts. Additionally, The concept checks and test at the end are the cherry on top!

ALL PARAMEDICS SHOULD READ THIS BOOK
All Paramedics, and even EMTs should read this book. If your like me working exclusively in IFTs, vented patients are regular. This book gave me the confidence I needed to know exactly WHY I'm manipulating the vent buttons, not just waiting for the spo2 read to read above 94%. It's explained exceptionally well. I regret putting this book on the back burner as long as I did, and to be able to read it for free on Kindle Unlimited is almost unfair to the author.my only critique is that the Kindle book needs some editing as there is no chapter selection as the book is missing the formatted code. I'd definitely get that corrected.. this book deserves it.

Hands down best vent book for new and experienced providers!
This book is quick and easy read that really breaks down the theories and strategies of mechanical ventilation. It provides some of the best ways to troubleshoot and dealing with all vented patients from routine patients to patients with serious lung pathologies. I have carried more knowledge provided in this book into my clinical practice than anything else I have read. It’s clear and concise. It gives up to date best clinical practices to optimize patients’ ventilation and oxygenation.
