Good weather station but expensive...
Fitting and set up was easy. All readings seem accurate compared with a local Internet weather station near me. Wind speed however like some other people have mentioned are very iffy. My station is only about 10 feet off the ground so that might be why. Also in the quick setup it doesn't mention setting the pointer to North so the direction of the wind is accurate, althoughit can be adjusted in the app slightly. Using the history tab in the app gives a better readings than real time.

This weather station is superb!
This weather station is a dream. It's well made. It has no moving parts and it has a rechargeable battery, powered by solar panels, so will hopefully not need much maintenance in the months ahead. It was easy to set up - it took me less than an hour - and it transmits its signal to the receiver through three solid concrete walls. Once set up, there is an app to control and monitor it, and there is a Tempest website provided where your readings can be published worldwide. If you are contemplating buying one, have no fears.

Easy to setup
Not sure why I need this but it is kind of fun. The app works well and the setup was straightforward. It can be mounted in 3 different ways (on a pole, on a camera mount or to a base plate screwed to a fence post). It comes with its own radio transmitter hub that you need to plug in somewhere.

Great station but caution to U.K. buyers
A superb weather station but just a caution to U.K. buyers, the rain radar doesn’t work in the U.K. just yet. Hopefully soon.

Tempest weather station
Very disappointed with this, if you are buying this for reading the wind speed then buy a traditional station with an anemometer, mine is above the house on a long pole with no obstructions but hasn’t reported more than 10mph yet even though this last while its been gusting over 50mph, i contacted tempest who suggested a longer pole… any higher and it would need aircraft lights! very disappointed

I LOVE IT
I'm a weather freak and simply love this weather station. I set it up and added smart display using the old iPad. Looks sleek. The system is more then adequate to my needs. As I'm living in the city wind measurements won't be 100 spot on but give a rough idea what's going on. The rain gauge is great! The home hub is nice and small and the sensor looks modern and futuristic. Love it! Worth the price if u into weather or your work depends on it.

Taken by storm
Taken me by storm! Teething problems solved quickly. Device is very neat and is aestheticlly pleasing. The app (Android, in my case) is responsive and informative. The lack of a display, strange at first, but... It's fine. After 9 weeks it's great!

I did my research before investing in a weather station. The Tempest is simply fabulous. Easy to install and self charging. I mounted ours on a pole on our roof giving it lots of sun an full clearance for wind readings. The hub is mounted in the attic and feeds the data into our home network. The app is good, the api is excellent. We use home assistant and have it easily integrated. We share our weather data to the world as well, helping to complete the weather mesh used for early alerts and more accurate forecasting. We were automating a cold room and needed reliable local weather data. I can highly recommend this product.

The Tempest weather station was very easy to install and works quite well. I did have a few issues when I was going to do the install because I was installing it in a non-standard way. I live in an RV so is mounting it to the trailer and the back using a pole and a mount. Two problems I ran into first off mounting it to the bumper like I plan on doing required me to have a support higher up that needed to stand off from the side of the trailer but hold it so that it wouldn't wobble around a lot. Unfortunately I had to have somebody else do that because I wasn't able to install that myself. Second problem that I ran into was the pipe that I was using to install it onto. It says you need a 3/4 inch pipe to install it on however if you go to the hardware store and order a three quarter inch pipe don't get the plumbing pipe get the structural pipe. The plumbing pipes have threads on them and don't fit the connector for the weather station because of threads. What I did instead was go on to Amazon and find a mounting kit for this type of station that allowed me to install it without having to buy a separate pipe for it. The one I got has a bumper mount kit that screws into the bumper or to your wall either one and then has segments on it that can be removed individually or added to if need be you can buy as many segments as you need to get it as high as you need I bought enough to get it high up at 8 ft. Once I got it installed I set up the software and it was quite easy. One of the nice things about it is it does let you capture data from it using the online system. You can capture it into an Excel spreadsheet quite easily and there's instructions on the web on how to do that if you like to keep data on your weather stations progress. Back when I lived in a house I did that with the weather stations I had posted there and I have several years worth of weather data stored up. Now I can do the same thing with this one as well. As far as accuracy is concerned the only thing that I was cautioned by support staff was that it does need to be permanently mounted someplace because it requires GPS coordinates to give you accurate readings since it does have a learning system for the area. If you're doing RV living like I am if you're traveling a lot might be a bit of an issue but if you're staying in one place for a long period of time that might not be such a big problem it'll just have to relearn the location each time you go to someplace new. Overall I give this thing to five stars because I do like the unit it's quite nice and it actually tolerates moving around by my trailer quite a bit more than a normal weather station probably would! Update: after using this weather station for a while i can report the readings are quite accurate and the battery level rarely drops below 2.6v which is more than adequate to keep it running 24/7. The pole i attached it to sits about 1-1/2 feet above my trailer roof and is quite stable. With it mounted to my trailer i had expected the movements as i walked around to throw off the wind or rain sensors but it doesn't seem to affect them at all. Definitely recommend this weather station!
