Natural keda dye
Beautiful color, easy to apply and cleanup-no chemicals, environmentally friendly. Yay!Used solution of dye and denatured alcohol and water to re-stain my two Adirondack chairs. The bright red color is stunning.

Love this stuff
Excellent product. I’ve used it for years. I personally don’t even read the directions. I put one pack in a cheap “catsup squirty bottle” that probably holds 400cc/ml. I like the deep and rich color this provides. Most of the time, I do 2 coats and dry the first coat with a torch prior to second coat.

Works well.
Firstly, I used this (red) mixed with blue to make purple (for electric guitar body). It worked great (with an undercoat of black to really deepen the purple). I have not used it for just a straight red, but would expect to have to blend it to get a specific tone (I generally prefer alizarin crimson (dark red)).These are limited color palette dyes, so to get a particular shade, you'll have to consider the type of surface (and color), how to build up different colored layers to affect color tone, and learn how to blend from the available colors. From the five colors available, with blending, should meet most of the colors people will want to use. Although wood is not a bleached white canvas, so expect variation.

Amazing Product - Highest Recommendation
For ages I've always wanted to find a 'non-traditional' wood dye that offered more than your basic 'wood tones'. After doing a little research I came across Keda Wood Dyes and ordered the yellow & red to try on a long awaited project I had wanted to start and the blue dye for some future projects.I had obtained some very damaged military crates and I wanted to refurbish them in order to make an entertainment stand for my TV and gaming consoles. I wanted to try finishing one as a 'test' to see if it would be worth continuing with the others and I was more than satisfied with the results. After sanding the surfaces I used the Keda Yellow on the inside of first crate and the Keda Red on the outsides. I finished them up with some satin gloss polyurethane and the final outcome was beyond my expectations. Very easy to use (I added two tablespoons of denatured alcohol, warm water, and 1/8 teaspoon of dye powder mixed in an 8 oz. mason jar). From there I added about three to four coats on each surface and let them dry between applications.Keep in mind, using painter's tape was a must in order to keep the dye colors from blending into one another (it's honestly like painting with Kool-Aid), but it made all the difference. I've added some photos of the crate from start to finish just for reference. Amazing product - can't wait to try the blue dye soon!

Great color
I was very happy with this stuff. The colors turned out great. I ordered blue and red for making wood flags. I had a little issue with mixing the red. I used a quart of varathane ultimate clear polyurethane for both colors. The blue mixed in really well but the red clumped up. I was just using a stir stick and shaking the cans by hand so it might have just been user error. I do plan to get some type of mixer and I will use more of this stuff. If I can get the clumps mixed in better I will definitely give this 5 stars. I did use 5 packets in 1 quart to get the desired color. I wanted the colors to be darker without needing multiple coats. I added one pack at a time and tested the results and in the end, it was 5 packets. The blue was perfect. Im happy with the red, but I'm curious what the difference will be if I get it mixed properly.

Amazing dye!
This dye is absolutely amazing! I used it to stain a bar that my husband and I built. I burned the wood of the bar and then used this dye to stain it. It came out fantastic! This is definitely my go to stain from now on and it was easy to mix. I just used hot water and added the amount of dye I needed to create the color that you see in the pictures above. If you're interested, don't think about it... just buy it!

Red is not red
You MUST blend yellow with the "red" to get a true red. These colors from Keda are not truly red and is a magenta like what is used in printing. I plan on adding yellow on top to hopefully bring this to a true red. The dye mixes best with water, but I also used lacquer thinner relatively effectively, but the dye dissolves best in water. I sanded to 120 grit hoping to avoid a pink/magenta die as other directions have said 220 grit gives a pink finish. GET MULTIPLE COLORS of these dyes so you can dial in your color. Will update once I add yellow on top. Great colors they just need to stipulate that their "red" really isn't. I love the penetration and even coat of the color I just bought red dye thinking I would get a red color. I am not sure what other reviewers here did to get red, but I wish they had written their steps because no way they got that deep red with only the red dye packets.
