Okay for price. External power backfeeds computer!
Was skeptical about buying for the price but it works. Hub is small and has a cord just under 2ft, much longer then other hubs in this price range. All ports appear to be usb 3.0. Has an extra MicroUSB port input for an external power supply. However this port is directly connected to the power lines from the USB hub and will back feed your computer! Would not recommend using the external power supply unless opening and cutting the power line to the computer. Overall build quality is fairly cheap with thin plastic. Would recommend if not using external power supply.

Do not recommend
I wanted to like this because I needed extra slots and a cord that would reach around to the righthand side of my Mac. It's not really 24" but within a couple of inches of that. The user booklet gives 2 instructions:1. Connect to your laptop2. Connect to AC power by using a wall adapter (not included)."Not included"?I know we all want just one more cord and one more electrical circuit going into our computers. And they don't include it.Good luck finding one.Well, fortunately, I have several iGoober Amber Book Lights (Rechargeable Blue Light Blocking Reading Light, from China on Amazon) with the same little weird plug-in, and it fits, but it's a charger, not an adapter. So I am sending this back.

It does USB hub things, but it whines about it
This USB does what most USB hubs do -- USB hub things. It's also quite low profile while it does this, and the side-exit USB port makes for clean under-the-desk integrations (just add a little 3M VHB).However, if you don't provide it with external power, you may notice that it emits a very high pitched whine and crackling sound the entire time it's in use. When you plug a micro-USB cable in and provide external power, the whine goes away completely.

Works great..
Works great... I'll probably order another one of these and daisy chain is to the first.I'm using this on my RetroPie setup (Arcade/Console/Computer emulation using a Raspberry Pi). I have a keyboard, mouse, USB adapter, and controller plugged into this. At first I was getting an undervoltage warning from the Raspberry Pi 3B... but after I plugged a 2.5A wall charger into this device, it appears to have gone away.Great device!

A BIT PRICEY
This item is much smaller than expected the cord was not 24" inches and I think the price was little high. Would have felt more comfortable paying less but then again who wouldn't. I just think it's priced one or two dollars high for what it is and what you get. In the end it worked out but a little extra length on the USB cable would have been nice. Just don't move your desktop once you plug it in unless you don't mind dragging the attached devices across your desk and onto the floor.

Work's as expected
Works as expected. It has a MicroUSB input for external power.I connected a dongle for my Keyboard and one for my Mouse for the Surface Pro 2 and it works great. When I added a portable hard drive to it, the mouse & keyboard stopped working because they weren't getting enough power.I connected the MicroUSB to a wall wart, it helped, but mouse still struggled to move (stuttering). I'm not sure if it was because the Surface Pro couldn't send enough power through the USB port, or something that's related to the hub, so I'm not going to take away any stars for that.Would recommend product, specially at this price point.

Well... Here's what I will say about the specific unit I received:
Unfortunately, only 2 of the 4 USB inputs/ports actually work (I'm willing to give 'benefit of the doubt' & assume that I just happened to receive a faulty outlier unit) but admittedly, it is quite frustrating & very disappointing.Regarding the 2 USB ports that do properly function, they work very well. Fast read/write/transfer rate, connection is quite stable, quick recognition of external drives, etc. -- I just wish all 4 of the USB inputs worked & functioned as they are supposed to.

Perfect for a home office
I have been working from home for the past 6 months. I have alot of gadgets that need to connect to my laptop. The first device I had was loose and would not stayed plugged in as I moved around my laptop. This device is perfect. I can plug in and move it away from the activity. It's still close to the laptop but just a little out of reach of the keyboard, mouse, camera, etc. It's stable and I never loose connection.

Great functionality
I just received the USB 3 Hub and use-it to backup my Surface tabled using just one USB 3 port. Surface boots fine from the Acronis 2019 UEFI boot media and also I attached to the Hub the external portable Seagate drive to store the Surface backup. The Hub was able to power the Portable Seagate drive and the Acronis usb boot stick. Backup took like 10 minutes with the archive validation. All this thanks to the 4 port HUB.

Really cheap, expect it to break in a year
Main cable twists very easily, was getting random disconnects of devices hooked up to it a year after use. Spend a little more and get something built with more quality.

Nice USB hub that can be powered
I bought this hub because it could easily be powered by a micro usb cable. The cable was damage upon arrivale but seller was nice and is sending me a replacement.Looks good, as 4x USB 3 ports. Will update this review if I have any issues

Works like a charm.
I'm very pleased with the product.Initially, after connecting it to the computer, it didn't get detected. But after a quick reboot, with the device connected, it was up and running.Much needed this because of all my USB ports being used.Professionally packaged, with a handy informative little brochure.
