If your asking if you need either one, I would say no; I installed mine on an F-150, and prob. have 5-6 ft. coiled up under the seat. Unless you're installing it on the back of a trailer, that would be interesting? and I'm just not a fan of window mounts- I don't feel they're very secure, and it comes with a pretty good dash mount(easily modified to sit on my center console). More at issue (certainly with my truck) was that it put the screen too far away to really be able see it very well! Especially the smaller monitor- consider upgrading to the 7in.
