Perwin vs. Leatherman Rebar
My review is limited to a comparison between the Perwin multitool and the Leatherman Rebar, which seems the appropriate Leatherman counterpart to the Perwin, having 17 tools of the same general nature. It seems the Chinese have inspected a number of Leatherman multitools, adopted the functions they like, and they have improved others. In certain respects the Perwin is much better than a Rebar. For example, the Perwin has spring loaded pliers. It also has a file which the Rebar lacks. IMHO the Perwin also has a better knife blade. The rebar has no tools accessible from the outside, whereas the Perwin has four: file/ruler, knife blade, saw, and scissors. The Perwin's plier handles are comfortable to grasp; the Rebar's plier handles have sharp spots and are uncomfortable to use, like many Leathermans. Both multitools have the standard accouterments including an awl, cap lifter, can opener, Phillips screwdriver, and large and small standard screwdrivers. The Rebar's Phillips screwdriver is more robust than the Perwin's, and it has a serrated blade the Perwin lacks. ( I've never found that particular blade very useful because I don't cut much heavy cordage). However, the Perwin has a useful package opener the Rebar lacks. All the tools on both units lock open, except for the pliers. It appears the steel of the Perwin is 440A and the Rebar is 420HC. Both are fine for a multitool as far as I'm concerned. Both units appear to be well made and robust. I haven't used the Perwin extensively yet, so I can't speak to the quality of its metalurgy. The Perwin also has one item I like much better than the Rebar--and other Leathermans including the Bond and Super Tool 300. The fasteners used to hold together these Leathermans themselves require a specialized tool to adjust tension. It has to be special ordered on the internet. That's a nuisance. The Perwin uses fasteners adjustable with a commonly available hex key, as are some Leatherman multitools. I guess the big questions comes down to this: all things being roughly equal, is buying American (Leathermans are made in Oregon) and the Leatherman name worth $60.00 more? I recently bought the Perwin for $20.00 and the Rebar currently sells for about $80.00 on Amazon.com. (Who knows what the Perwin will cost after the application of the Trump tariffs on Chinese goods.) Unfortunately, many Americans don't have the income or the inclination to take such issues seriously. The Perwin does seem to be a better value than the Rebar.

Surprised
I am really shocked at the price of this knife. The quality is outstanding and is very sharp and well built. The weight of it is just right. Feels substantial but still something you can have in your pocket. This knife can do it all. I bought several of them to have in my vehicles. As well as my RV and one in each of my rifle and bow cases.

GREAT TOOL, FAIR PRICE, QUALITY WELL MADE PRODUCT
JUST RECEIVED THE PERWIN 22 IN 1. THIS ITEM IS WELL MADE AND WELL FINISHED. I WOULD COMPARE IT TO A MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE MULTI TOOL. ALL TOOLS WORK WELL, THE KNIFE BLADE IS SHARP. OPENING AND CLOSING THE UNIT IS SMOOTH AND STEADY. THE ITEMS LOCK INTO PLACE AND NOTHING IS LOOSE OR RATTLES. THE DIAMOND COATED FILE WORKS GREAT. THE CASE HAS TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF BELTLOOPS. ONE - THE BELT GOES THROUGH THE LOOP, THE OTHER IS PLACED OVER AND CLIPS ON THE BELT. THE UNIT ALSO HAS AN ATTACHED METAL POCKET CLIP WHICH IS REMOVABLE. I REALLY LIKE HOW THE BLADE CAN BE OPENED WITH ONE HAND AND WITHOUT HAVING TO OPEN THE TOOL ITSELF. THE TEETH ON THE PLIERS MATCH UP WELL ALSO. FOR ME, THE UNIT IS A BIT LARGE FOR INSIDE POCKET CARRY, BUT GREAT FOR USING THE BELT CASE OR TO KEEP IN THE TRUCK. I AM GOING TO SEE IF PERWIN ALSO SELLS A BIT SMALLER UNIT TO CARRY IN THE POCKET, AS I FEEL THEY CARE ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT. THANKS PERWIN FOR AN ITEM WELL DONE.

Almost a great tool
I love this multi-tool. All the tools are large and usable size. The scissors are larger than most other multi-tools. I like the locking features on each tool. The build quality seems very good. My only complaint is that the knife out of the box was very dull. I tried sharpening it with my chef's choice electric sharpener and a handheld knife sharpener. It is a little sharper but not as sharp as my pocketknife. I use the same sharpener on my pocket and kitchen knives with good results. If anyone knows a good way to sharpen this knife. Please post it.

Well constructed and designed
I was looking for a compact multi-function tool to carry on my tool belt and simplify the number of other tools I’d need. I am very impressed with the stoutness of each of the included tools, there is nothing cheap about it. Other reviews have gone into detail about each of the 22 tools included, so I will save your time by simply stating this tool is well made, has safety features I feel are important, and is intuitively designed. I am impressed, especially at this price!

Quality at a bargain price.
These are great quality- especially for the price. Sheath is excellent. The tool is more comfortable than the Leatherman Wave. Scissors work better too. Highly recommended.

Great tool, great value, liked it enough to order more
Exactly what I wanted and hoped for when I ordered it. The tools and blades seem to have good fit, sharpness and quality. The tool feels good in my hands and I ordered four more as gifts for my kids (I put one in each car glove box). There are better units but this one is quite decent and a great value which is what I want in a occasionally used tool like this.

Solid tool.
I really like this. I’m likely going to buy another. On for my duty rig. One for my car. Feels solid and useful. Nicely done.
