They did bend enough for this width and should accommodate a bed at least 48 inches wide. The instructions recommend using a minimum of 5 fiberglass sections. For beds over 48 inches a sixth piece might be desirable. The connectors fit quite loosely before the poles are bent so I preassembled them and secured them in place with duct tape. Although the connectors appear straight they have a crimp in the center that when faced toward the inside make the hoop easier to bend. Overall, these exceeded my expectations and were easy to assemble. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars sturdy and easy to assemble *by S***R on Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2022* I was skeptical at first when the pieces for these hoops arrived as the individual rods didn't seem like they would bend at all.
