Very GLAD I chose an industry leader!
I had a very large electrical project and had to label dozens of cables. My manager asked me to shop around for a good portable label maker. After a lot of research and consideration, I settled on Brady. I am very pleased with the results. In the end, you get what you pay for. Going with Brady was absolutely the correct decision. The equipment only comes with a quickstart reference guide and a battery charging/replacement guide. As it turns out, I really only needed the battery charging guide, as it explained the battery needs to be removed for charging, which was odd. Otherwise, the equipment interface is very user-friendly. You can download the full user manual online, but I haven't needed it yet.Replacing the label cartridge is very easy as well. Just one latch on the front and an eject button on the back. Before installing the new label cartridge, be sure the label stock is fitted properly between the small plastic guides at the end of the cartridge. Otherwise, the label stock will jam up upon advancing.I recommend sticking with the .75" wide cartridge labels for descriptive wire marking. The smaller labels work fine for banner (lengthwise) marking. The labeler itself if made of durable rubber-like stock which will reduce impact if dropped or bumped. The case has room for 2 spare cartridges and makes portability a seamless experience. The battery life lasts for a several hours. I’ve only had to charge it once over the course of approximately 16 hours of moderate use. The label maker does seem to shut off if idle for awhile, saving battery life.We are very happy customers!

Hands down, best labeler for work in the trades.
I work in electrical controls work and this line of label makers is by fart the best I’ve used in two decades. The cartridges are easy to change out and the feature of storing premade labels streamlines the process from having to type a new label every time when needed. The backlight is a plus for areas that are hard to see like an electrical closet. My favorite feature is that it comes with a rechargeable battery instead of having to change out 6 AA batteries when it goes dead. Technology has come a long way in that regard. Will last for years. This is my third one in this line of labelers over twenty years.

No longer disappointed
Update: upon looking at the Brady website, I found that my issue was due to fake label cartridges. Always make sure the cartridge you use has the A (authentic) in the lower right hand corner of the label.Having owned a Brady Labeler for the last 12 years, I knew I was going to get the same one after my cartridge lock lever broke. My new one arrived quickly with all of the extras present. Unfortunately after a month and a half, my Brady Labeler stopped working! Upon pressing the print button it gave an error indication of “No/ Invalid Cartridge.” I’ve tried other official Brady cartridges, but it still doesn’t work! I’m EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED that this new Brady Labeler has stopped working and I have no idea how to try and return it!

Great quality label printer.
It's certainly not the cheapest but not nearly the most expensive either. Good value. Great label stock is available for it. A must for control panel wring labeling.
