I read a number of reviews before my purchase, most making the same point, that this addition is expensive, but having had 2 evenings with this installed it is a game changer for fire pits. It directs the flow of heat our and down allowing you to sit further back and to be comfortable in the knowledge that the costly wood you are burning is not just going straight up. Absolutely love this. The Solo bonfire pit with this deflector are superb.

This works as advertised, capturing a lot of the sky bound heat, directing it to those gathered around the firepit. It’s especially noticeable when the fire has died down a little, no need to pull the chair in quite so close, those logs will seem to last a bit longer. The legs seemed difficult to attach at first, difficult as in fiddly, but what seemed fiddly first-time round is no longer. My tips: If detaching the legs after use, put the clips used to secure them in a safe place, losing any of them would render the Deflector useless, moreover dangerous. Mount it on the firepit once the fire has taken a good hold, I made the mistake of doing so from the outset, it became filthy, but did clean nicely the next day. Good heat proof gloves are necessary, the Deflector gets insanely hot whilst in use. In case you’re wondering, it can be used with the shield in place, the shield being the guard which stops clouds of ash covering the area in which the fire is being used and may persuade those less inclined toward firepits due to the mess to look upon them more favourably. Finally, as to my 3-star rating for value for money, I’m never sure what is a best price from Solo Brands. Flash sales seem to occur frequently, for both the accessories and the pits themselves. Although I’m unsure of the price I paid as in it being the best deal, I’m delighted with the purchase, as I am with the firepit itself, it’s lid, the shield, and the shelter. Happy days.

You get what you pay for, this is a great bit of kit to go with the Solo Stove Ranger 2, does exactly what it says it does, 100% happy with it

Well enough made and does the job but the price is absolutely absurd. How can this thing cost 3/4 the price of the fire pit? Absolute rip off price for a must have accessory. Feel a bit dirty for getting my pants pulled down so hard.

Probably the best thing you can buy for this fire pit. Makes the heat spread out rather than up.

I feel all of the Solo accessories are over priced and the same goes for the heat deflector, however it does make a difference and distributes the heat that would be otherwise lost…. No regrets with my purchase.

We're delighted with this product, it really does work by deflecting the heat downwards, good for when you're sitting around the fire.

Quite effective at pushing heat outwards, but only at leg height if your outdoors. Expensive but works

This works wayyyy better than I thought it would. Deflects the heat much better than not having it. I have two bonfire model solo stoves. One I take camping and the other sits in the center of a permanent brick fire pit next to our pool. When the wind blows the shield really doesn't help. But if there is no wind you can sit back much further and enjoy the heat. Without it you have to sit way to close tho these to feel the heat. Ive used this deflector in both scenarios and it works well. Way to expensive for what it is but it hasn't warped or changed shape at all after about 10 hot as hell fires.
