Stuck in Universe City. Send Help."I mean if a book starts like this, who wouldn't love it? I had read this book couple of years ago and it was a great experience. Such a lovely, feel-good book.Frances and Aled and Daniel🖤. Universe City (A Sci-Fi YouTube podcast by Aled), was a cry for help and February Friday!I liked reading this book and I had smiled till my cheek hurt, why? Coz' there were these cute moments, and their friendship was adorable😘.It felt like watching a movie, it gave me the "Dreamy night with neon light vibes!!". Especially that time in the open field when Frances and Aled held their hands and ran."And he laughed, it reminded me of a child's laugh, and I wish people could always laugh and run like that." - Frances about Aled.We all have few people in our lives who become everything to us, our priority, our love, our hate and our everything. sometimes all we need is to hold their hand, hug them, or just behold them. Their laugh/smile makes our day and definitely it hurts to watch them suffer. That person in France's life was Aled, a person she loves the most, her best friend. And I have realized those people are my Mom and Dad in my life!!Of course, the story was a bit predictable, but I loved the climax, I literally screamed "Radio Silence" during the countdown scene, THAT moment when Frances whisper and at the same time Aled roar into the Crowd saying "Hello. Don't even ask me why. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Most relatable young adult novel *by J***I on 18 April 2024* "Radio Silence" by Alice Oseman is the most relatable young adult book that beautifully portrays the struggles of teenagers, including academic pressure, fandom, and friendship. The story delves into the most important phase of teenage years, high school, and the question of what one wants to do in life. This question is something that we all have struggled with at some point in our lives.The book follows the story of Frances and Aled. Frances is a study machine with only one goal in life: to get admission to her dream university. However, she has a secret obsession with a podcast called "Radio Silence," and she secretly creates fan art for it that nobody knows about. At school, Frances may seem like a boring girl with no hobbies, but she has a different personality that she only shares with Aled. Aled is a shy and talented student who is the mastermind behind the podcast.The characters of Frances and Aled are quite relatable, their struggles seem like our own struggles, this book tells you that It's ok to be different, and it's ok to choose the road less traveled. The only thing that matters is to be happy, in what you do.I really enjoyed reading this book, particularly the friendship between Aled and Frances. However, I found the ending a little bit dramatic. It felt like I was watching a Bollywood movie, especially that train scene at the end. And that exactly this book did to me. This 400 pages story is about a girl who meets a boy who is the creator of this fandom she loves the most and how their relationship goes from there.💜Firstly this book focuses on friendship. Nothing romantic between the above said boy & girl.💜Secondly, the characters. Both Frances & Aled are my sweetie pies. If I could, I'd just hug them both. They are both nerdy & wear fandom clothes. I love how Aled is so passionate about the podcast and I love Frances for being such a fangirl. I love how they are both same yet unique in their own way. Basically I love them both.💜Thirdly, this whole thinking about the future, the pressures young people feel to get into the best college or university and learning there are many things than just academic are beautifully said.I loved Frances's mom. I've never read a book with an awesome mom like her before. She is so cool. And Aled's mom is completely the opposite. She is so abusive and I hate her with H in caps.This book has the most diverse characters I've read in a YA book and let's talk about LGBTQ rep. It has bisexual, gay, asexual characters. And also talks about depression.
