Ok. So I'm all about anything that will help make my migraines more tolerable. I already take meds for it, but that's not enough unfortunately. So I have my handy migraine "kit" for when one hits. I read about this product on my Facebook migraine grp. I know there were other brands mentioned, so I checked them all out. I cringed a bit at the price of the icekap 2.0 but it seemed the most versatile and best quality.What I love:The hat is soft on the inside. Not fabric that will pill but smooth and light. The exterior is very solid, durable fabric. Easy to wipe off. It is not heavy on my head. But there are gel packs in pockets all over the entire inside so your whole head is enclosed by cold (or heat if you prefer). Other hats don't give that much coverage.There is a small opening at the top so you can pull your hair up and out so it's out of the way (I really love that). The gel packs don't get rock solid when frozen, so i can mold the hat to my head. The back/lower neck portion is longer and has a dedicated ice pack. It's great if your source of pain stems from your neck or if you want more coverage over your eyes you can turn it around. But even with it forward facing, I can pull it down enough that it covers my eyes and blocks out light. It's highly adjustable using the Velcro tabs. Sometimes I want that cold pressure all over and sometimes I want no pressure, and looser. Very easy to adjust it for that. I ordered an XL even tho my measurements say an L would fit. I wanted a lot of room to adjust it and I find that the XL works well all the way tightened, loosened or in between. It stays cold quite a long time and when I'm done it just goes back in the freezer. I've also used it to lay back on as a cold source for neck pain. It can be good for really any spot that hurts.The only drawback would be the higher cost but to me it was worth it. At first I was thinking to myself I was crazy. Who spends this much on a HAT. I felt guilty bc I thought I was not being thrifty enough. I cut corners in a million different ways to save money, could I not just stick with my usual random assortment of ice packs? But the first time I used it, all notions of guilt were gone. It has really helped me weather my migraines. I have an abortive med I can take, but resist taking bc I don't like the side effects. Between my icekap and my other little tricks, I can more often deal with migraines without the meds. It helps if I start using it (along with my other helps) as soon as I feel one coming on. Then I can head it off at the pass and hopefully it won't get bad enough to need my medication. It also works so much better than random ice packs. I can put on my hat and lay down and rest. No having to constantly fumble with ice packs to get them in the right places. No slipping ice packs off my head. No drips. No need for an eye covering to block out light. And if I want, I can walk around with it on. It stays in place.So what more can I say? It's great and worth every penny. Oh wait, you wanted to know about the company? Good news! Fantastic customer service! Their website is great to read because it gives some background of how the product came to be, how to use it warmed, order extra gel packs (so you always have a frozen set ready to swap out), etc. They have a toll free number and you can message them on Messenger. I left them a message yesterday after hours. I noticed one of the Velcro tabs was starting to come away from the hat. I was worried that it would eventually get worse and come right off. The hat would still be useable, just not as adjustable. So I reached out to them (this is months beyond the 30 day guarantee) and asked if they could help. I thought maybe they could offer suggestions on how to fix it or maybe send me a replacement at a discount, I really didn't know what to expect.They messaged me back today, less than 24 hrs later. They said that even though it's well past 30 days, they'd send me a replacement because it was so unusual to have that kind of problem happen. So, it's on its way. And I'm so happy they were so helpful. Quality items can be hard to come by, but a great item with fantastic customer service to back it up is RARE. I'm glad I went with their product. I'm glad to support a small company. And I hope this review was helpful to those who are trying to decide if it's a worthwhile purchase.

I bought one of these several years ago on a recommendation from a migraine sufferer. Absolutely worth every penny. The simple concept makes it functional enough to wear while going about my day but comfortable enough to wear while in bed waiting for the migraine to pass. I love that the ice packs are insertable so they can be swapped out as needed. I love the feel of the material and the option of increasing compression. The hole for my ponytail is perfect and I love that it still covers the top of my head. I recommend them to anybody seeking migraine relief and only bought a second one for the convenience if having two. The first ones has held up and shows no signs of giving up on me yet.

I love this migraine hat. It is very effective but can be too cold sometimes. I get Botox for migraine, but when it starts wearing off between appointments, this hat is a life saver. First ordered a large but returned it for XL. It can be tightened, but it’s kind of hard to get on if it’s not a little big on your head. I like it too big bc I can pull it down so it covers the tops of my eyes and my whole neck. It can get pretty heavy, but normally when I’m wearing it I’m resting so it’s not usually a problem. Stays cold for over an hour, but I usually take it off to give myself a break at that point. Really like that you can pull your hair up and out of the hat—the ice packs come into contact with your scalp better that way.

The cap was used to avoid/ reduce hair loss from chemotherapy . Extra ice packs were also purchased to provide enough for ongoing cooling during the treatment. It did not work for me .my hair started to shed and was all gone 2 weeks after the first treatment .I would like to return it for a refund but have past the return deadline . I could also donate it for someone’s to try and see if they get better results . I am putting it out there

I have chronic headaches that are localized over my right temple. I've had various diagnoses for this, including "tension headache with migraine symptoms", but no matter what they are, so far nothing helps them. This cap...kind of does. With it, the length and severity of my headaches is improved (two days in bed versus three or four, about a 7/10 versus peaks of 26/10), so overall, I'm happy with it. But there's some caveats worth considering.Pros:-Versatile positioning, so the neck flap can actually go over your eyes for more coverage, or you can wear it kinda cattywampus to really get some cold where you need it (for me, having it situated properly doesn't touch my temple).-Easily adjustable, so that you can get a fit that just helps it stay put or even adds additional pressure, if that's what helps you.-Easy to recline with.Cons:-The packs don't always freeze. They're not supposed to freeze SOLID, but they are supposed to actually crystallize into a flexible form. But they don't. The number 2 packs are especially bad about this, and this happens over three different sets, so I don't think I just got a weird batch. They can be sitting in the very back of the bottom drawer of the deep freeze for actual weeks and still be simply cold liquid. What this means is they lack the ability to stay cold when applied to your head; because the liquid has not crystallized, equilibrium is reached very quickly since not as much energy is required to heat liquid. This is common to regular gel packs, but since these are supposedly better than what you'd find at Walgreen's, and since the majority of packs do actually crystallize, I'm guessing this is not the intended behavior.-3 hours is a little optimistic. You really have to have had the packs frozen for a long, long time to really get anything out of them. When you first get your cap it says to freeze for at least 24 hours, but I've found to really get anything useful out of them, they need to have been frozen for about three days, at least. And even then it's closer to an hour and a half. I know it says "up to", but c'mon.-It's heavy. I have BPPV (that's vertigo that is triggered by positional changes, usually while lying down), and the extra ballast of the cap means it's a lot worse if I need to roll over onto my side or something. It lasts longer and is more unpleasant. If you have this, as well, it's something to consider how much you're willing to put up with.-You really have to buy tons of refill packs if you have days-long episodes and want to use your cap more than once or twice every 24 hours. The length of time required to freeze and provide meaningful relief versus the time it's actually providing that relief is abysmal. Truly, truly, abysmal. At least my drugstore ice pack only takes an hour to freeze and I get a half hour out of it. That's a lot more up-time, guys, and for far less money.-The packs of course have those edges from the sealing machine that are very wide and like to bend outwards so that they poke you.-They say you can freeze the cap with the packs in it, but that largely results in a warped shape that is hard to re-fit to your head, and it also takes LONGER to freeze that way due to the cap's insulation.-And on the above note, putting the frozen packs into the cap is not a quick or easy process. Especially pack 3 which I've never once gotten into its slot in a graceful manner.-The packs DO NOT actually perfectly fit the pouches. They slide around and can bunch up.-If you wear glasses and think you can get some stuff done while wearing this, nah. The cap will sag against the top of the frame and make everything worse. If you're like me and don't relish the thought of contacts while you're dealing with a headache, this is not going to be a productivity saver, which is what I had really been hoping for.-It doesn't really conform to your head in any meaningful way. I find myself constantly putting pressure on certain places with my hands to try and maximize contact.Those are the big things I've noticed in the months I've had this. It's not $80 worth of amazing. If the packs were actually sewn in, maybe, and did actually sit firm in their places and it was just a bit snugger, MAYBE it'd be worth the money. But as it is, it's a lot of money for what is, to me (ie someone who really does have an okay time of it all and is thankfully not undergoing chemo like some users unfortunately are), a mediocre product.
