Classy switch
Swapped all my downstairs switches for these as they look great and modern in matt black. Really nicely finished. The face plate can easily be removed when painting without having to unscrew the whole thing.

Faulty
I ordered 2 of these and neither worked. At first I thought it was my fault, so ordered a second and that also didn't work.

Good, but no cigar....
A stylish low-profile, screwless design: what's not to like? The "gotcha" lies in the phrase "low-profile"!Standard surface-mounted British switch boxes sit around 8 or 9mm out from the wall. These Knightsbridge switches are, like it says on the tin, lower-profile. This means that when you screw the switch to an existing recessed wall box, the screws will hit the back of the wall box and cannot be tightened further, thus leaving the switch itself sticking out from the wall. Not good.Of course, all would have been great if the guys in China had included shorter screws but ....errr... they didn't think about that. The supplied screws are *precisely* the same length as the ones that come with standard British light switches. So I'm left with the option of returning the product to Amazon, or trying to cut the screws down to size. But first, I'm off to check out my local hardware store...
