Not leaving any spots that would drip (keep re-brushing those areas) - at about 50 degF. Within 20-30 minutes gave it a good wipe down with dry cotton paint rags. The rags got stained /slightly dampened about as much as they would from wiping a wet countertop. In 24-30 hours well vented (garage door open) the boards were ‘dry’ (wiping with my hand would get the most slight film) but not sticky at all. So I wiped them with the dry cloth again, taking the most slight amount off. One small rag 6” square) would “dry” 10 square feet. Looking at the edges of the boards I could see the sealant had sunk in by 1/4 of an inch. It looks like it works best if the wood is dry, “thirsty”, and warm ( 50 degF). I wouldn’t do the initial wipe of ‘excess’ too soon, let it soak in working it with a brush. I’m totally satisfied (and I’m a picky woodworker). **Q: How long does it take to cure? Does it need a week like tung oil or can it be used once dry?** A: 24 hours to dry...three days to cure. **Q: Will this seal in any potential contaminates that may leach into the soil from the wood used to make the garden bed like China Fir?** A: It penetrates and bonds to the wood fibers. So I doubt any contaminates in the fibers could leach out into the soil. **Q: What tint is this product / asin?** A: It is clear. If you want it tinted you can use our Seal It Green Total Wood which is a similar plant based sealer but comes in different tints.
