The All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment (ALICE) was a load bearing system adopted as United States Army Standard A on 17 January 1973 to replace the M-1956 Load-Carrying Equipment (LCE) and M-1967 Modernized Load-Carrying Equipment (MLCE). Although since superseded by MOLLE, ALICE gear is still in some limited use in the U.S. Army in National Guard and training units, as well as by Navy and Air Force ground units. The U.S. Marine Corps currently uses ALICE gear in training only. All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment (ALICE) introduced in 1974 was made up of components for two types of load: the "fighting load" and the "existence load". The ALICE system was designed for use in all environments, whether hot, temperate, cold-wet or even cold-dry arctic conditions. Very well built.
I got the large alice pack in flecktarn. Perfect repro of the original, very well built and holds a ton of gear.

Not for serious use.
This ruck does the job. But not better than a real alice ruck. Replacing the straps with higher quality ones would make it a lot better. The buckles are flimsy. The stitching as well looks iffy. So i will say this product should be cheaper. Otherwise it will work for one or two hikes

Love
Would have loved this but no matter what I did, I couldn't get it to fit. The shoulder pads dug into my neck and there was nothing I could do so couldn't keep this. I'm a 17" torso

Cheaply made product
It is definitely a copy of the original Alice pack seems to be sturdy and somewhat well made the thread they use to stitch it all together is thin and may not hold up the overall rucksack is nice except the frame is cheaply made and will probably fall apart the straps are thin as well as the butt pad is thin overall you get what you paid for
