Another excellent product from Lamy
If you like Lamy products, you will like this, as this is the same good old safari with a better body. I think this design is as popular as it is for a reason, and I think this will be an excellent pen for everyone (except someone with a very unconventional grip). The quality is evident and the materials are an upgrade from the safari.

Great first impressions
My first fountain pen experience has been great so far. I ordered the extra fine version because I heard fine and extra fine work well on lower quality papers. This pen has worked great with my moleskin planner. No bleeding or feathering. I get some scratch, but it's somewhat infrequent. Writing experience, a+Build and materials are also excellent. I was expecting the pen to have more weight to it, but it's exceptionally light. That might be my only note. It's so light that it makes me wish there was more to it. Holding it you might think it's made of plastic. But it's not. It's all aluminum which will hold up for decades to come.9/10 would recommend.

Nice pen, awkward grip but you get used to it quickly
Very nice fountain pen. I love the extra fine nib and the aluminum construction to the exterior. The grip is new to me but after writing for a short time i got used to it.

Whats the difference?
Its not much different from Al-star. It feels the same, weighs the same. If i have my eyes closed i wouldn’t notice, ever. But when you write with it, thats where you feel the difference. The nib is really worth the price.

Beautiful, lightweight, writes like a dream
The case is as pictured, also of the same metal material. It's fallen off my home desk several times (too much stuff on the desk) and has no dents or scratches. Perfect for taking the trip to work in my bag! The tip was not too scratchy while writing but also writes beautifully on parchment or regular white copy paper. This is my new favorite work pen. I will be getting more of the Lx line for sure!

Wet writer, but in a good way.
Really wet writer for an extra fine nib, which makes it actually write thicker than the fine. At first this bothered me but I love it now! It shows off my sheening inks even with a relatively thin line. I think the lx nibs are noticeably smoother than the regular safari nibs, and the little protective case tube thing it comes with is great for keeping the pen safe from scratches to the aluminum when thrown into a purse or backpack. Love this pen.

A good everyday writer . 4 stars
I have owned this pen in xf almost 1 year. Good consistent writer. $49 sale from $70 MSRP is a better price. Lamy is good quality. In comparison you can get a few pilot metropolitans for $50, just a comment not a complaint. Or a few nos Reform 1745.
