Love The Book!
I happened across Kimberly's podcast on itunes, and got hooked, so of course I had to also get her book. I don't find her, or her book, to be shallow in the least. She seems very dedicated to yoga, and carrying its philosophy over into real life. I think the book touches on a lot of basics to the practice of yoga, and self-care. For a beginning yoga practitioner, or yogini, getting some basic facts presented clearly and concisely was very helpful to me. I don't want to be inundated with a bunch of technical or complicated concepts that can be overwhelming when I'm just starting out learning something, and this book fits the bill perfectly. I think we can all use a daily dose of tranquility, and Kimberly has a lot of great ideas on how to incorporate relaxation, and self-care into our lives. I would highly recommend purchasing this book, and checking out her podcasts!

Falls flat for me
I see I'm going to rock the lovefest, but.... I like KW's CDs, which is why I ordered this book - even though I didn't really like the name. The reviews were all so brilliant too.... Maybe I'm just not its market, which seems to be - what? I don't know. Very young girls? But she talks about work a lot, so it can't be teenagers. It's just a touch too shallow. By the end of the book, I couldn't see the words kitten heels again without rolling my eyes. Basically, a hip tranquil chick should wear all black, kitten heels, sequinned hairbands, and have lots of leopard print or bright pink either on her or in her apartment. Tres chic, as she would say. The writer also seems to think that sticking in a French word every here and there makes for hipness.... overuse of tres does not automatically make for chic-ness.Anyway, I now know not to order any more products from her. My mistake. Yoginis who don't like Cyndi Lee's way of writing or humourous asides on her media (I do, by the way) should avoid this product, as it is much more frivolous than Ms Lee's.....

Substantial, informative, fun, and fabulous!
A girly girl who's always been an avid fan of chick lit, the pretty pink and leopard print embellished cover of "Hip Tranquil Chick" immediately caught my eye. But don't be fooled by the cover, inside this incredible book you will find great inspiration and information. I highly recommend it to girls and women of all ages. This book literally changed the path of my life and further inspired me to visit Kimberly Wilson's blog ([...]) and listen to her podcast on iTunes. I was lucky enough to meet her in person on a recent trip to D.C., and she's every bit as genuine as she seems in her book and on her podcast. For yogis old and new, for any girl or woman searching for self-empowerment and inspiration, this book is a jewel.

Hip Tranquil chick is like Tawanda in Fried Green Tomatoes
When I read the first page or so I thought this was going to be a big disappointment. I thought it was all about buying cute yoga clothes. Boy was I wrong. Each chapter had something that made me feel great. It gave me some ideas on how to boost my self esteem in several different areas of life. I'm not low on self esteem but as I get older (I am 2 months shy of 57!!!) I'm finding that what worked years ago is no longer relevant. (Thank goodness for that!) I'm growing up all over again but with different tools and influences. This book gave me some great inspirations. Thank You Kimberly Wilson

Like an old friend in my library...
This is the book that was my gateway into the yoga world. I still have a copy and have purchased it 3 times when lost due to moves or being misplaced. I read it and am reminded that a quiet evolution and movement has taken place all these years and it started with this lovely little tome. Thank you for everything Kimberly!

I actually really enjoyed this book
I actually really enjoyed this book. The title makes you think it's going to be really just a fluffy take on yoga, and there are a lot of mentions of kitten heels and cosmos, but the author gives some great ideas on incorporating yoga into your every day life. She also delves a bit into hindu theory but with a light touch. Quick read but with some very usable info!

Great book!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this book! I'm fortunate enough to live in the Arlington, Virginia area where the author has a yoga studio, Tranquil Space. I usually find books about yoga to be quite boring honestly. This book offers a fresh look on being mindful. I think she did an excellent job and read and re-read this book often. I also have her other book, Tranquilista, and recommend that as well.

Great read for Yoga enthusiasts and beyond
This is a great book. Easy read. Has some good reminders about taking life slow and not getting too caught up in the minutia. I would recommend to others who enjoy yoga and even to those who don't.

Amazing!
Gives a great insight into balancing your life, using yoga as both an example and part of the change. Very girly but insightful at the same time.
