DEWALT 20V MAX XR Cordless Impact Wrench, 1/2", Includes Detent Pin Anvil and Belt Clip, Bare Tool Only (DCF892B)

This tool is a beast! I did not realize how much torque these tools provide until I borrowed one from a friend. I thought I was doing fine with my "brand R" power tools, but the DeWalt is in another level when it comes to power. Finally, in my lifetime, some one has created a battery power impact wrench that can break loose lug nuts on car wheels. No more need for air compressors and hoses now that I have this hand held beauty. This wrench is not any heavier than my air wrenches, has excellent grips, and is compact enough to access the fasteners I need to reach. It is a bit pricey, but I am happy with the value this tool delivers. DeWalt makes another model with even greater torque for things like shock tower bolts and the like, but this unit does everything I need it for. Additionally, this wrench has different torque settings for different jobs, so it is flexible in application.

When I first started working on vehicles I had a standard 1/2 impact that I used. After running in to come issues with bolts I found out this is the one I wanted. This should be a must have for anyone wrenching under their car. After looking around the cheapest I found it was here and that’s even looking at private sellers. I’ve always bought dewalt and never been disappointed in the quality or life. This does get a bit heavy in awkward situations but is still worth a little had crap to get that pesky nut or bolt!

This is the perfect tool for my needs. I already had the 20v Max system for other Dewalt tools and this was a great addition. I wanted to for basic tasks like taking trailer tires on / off and car tires on / off to perform basic brake inspections and repair. Nice feature on this is a setting that will loosen a nut, then slow down to prevent spin off. The same setting will tighten the nut down without putting too much torque on it. That allows me to finish with a hand torque wrench and tighten to spec.

Great tool. I appreciate the control settings from low-med-high. Not too crazy heavy but no lightweight either. Got the protective cover. Definitely has some punch. Should have bought one sooner. Glad I did now.

Made in Mexico, not USA. The detent is a tad weak, but it's better than the hog-ring type that I returned (couldn't even get a socket on it). Should work fine.

Got this to help remove lug nuts on my car. Helped reduce time changing from Winter to Summers and back. Works like a charm, great tool. Only issue I have is the request to borrow it from friends/relatives. This is the 3rd power tool that I own from DeWalt. Got a hammer drill when I purchased my first home, have been using the thing for years. 2nd purchase was an impact driver about 5-6 years ago to help with furniture assembly and other projects around the home.

Great tool. Will last you years. Powerful, light and not overkill for changing wheels, pipe-fitting, etc. Do not spend extra $100-150 on high-torque impact wrench unless you are working on heavy-duty equipment. 5Ah powerstack or a 4Ah compact is all you need with this. Removes and tightens lugnuts from tires from small cars to heavy trucks with ease.
