Good practical investment
Much needed tool for use with rope. Helpfully in multiple directions.

All good for top rope
I bought this for setting up top rope anchors. The working load limit on the bearing is 4kn (900 pounds). Keep in mind the mbs of the biner itself is well over 20kn. The WLL indicates at what load limit the bearing can be used at all the tine without wear or damage. So for a sub-200 pound climber on top rope this is well within 4kn. Plus even if the bearing axle gets damaged the carabiner itself wont break so its still perfectly safe. I waited until I had enough climbs on this on a top rope anchor to do a review. Annnd its great. Still functions flawlessly. Perfect for my application.

Perfect for personal rescue
I volunteer with my local rescue squad and mountain trail maintenance orgs. We do a lot of rope work, and this Petzl Rollclip makes half of a great, minimal weight rescue or haul system along with my Petzl Tibloc ascender and two carabiners. Top quality, fully certified.

Saw another tower climber using this with on his positioner cliped into an attachment to allow him to pull himself up. I had to get it. Really changed the quality of my work day. Small, functional and i would gladly buy it again.

5 stars, would love a prusik tending version.
Awesome and handy. I just wish there was a better prusik minding version, and the TRL version is a little awkward at first. Other than that, having two of these on my harness, allows me to build a quick mid-descend Z-rig to aid in ascending, especially with a heavy load. Combined with an Aztek kit, there is nothing you can’t do while hanging from a rope during technical/rescue work.
