This cacao has a masculine taste and energy to it, but it’s not over powering… rather uplifting and smooth mind/body connection. I use it for pre-workout, or before a ceremony when I’m already feeling grounded and relaxed to bring my awareness into a deeper layer, or just instead of coffee! I love it 😍 (blended well with portable hand mixer)

This is BY FAR the best medicinal cacao I’ve ever had. I’ve been having it for 3 years now and I can’t live without it. I’ve Tried a bunch of medicinal cacao and there’s nothing like this. The taste, the quality, the smell, the effects, everything is so good. Yes, in summer it comes melted and it’s a whole block, and yes the bag is compostable and sometimes it comes a lil bit open, but this is what you get when your buying REAL cacao. You just have to grate it and that’s it. And the bag is compostable so it’s natural that sometimes it can rip. But hey, if you want low quality cacao you can go for powder that comes in plastic ;). There’s plenty on the market! But if you’re looking for something really well done, quality and ethically sourced, then this is your call. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

Delicious taste

Cacao arrived well packaged (no styrofoam!) I like the product. And I woud like it even better if it were organically grown. Price is prohibitive for regular purchase. So I buy it once in a while only. Each time I drink it I feel I am doing something good for myself. Like a good healthy treat.

Item was shipped fast and arrived earlier than the expected date. It was packaged well for shipping though you might want to avoid ordering this product in the summer months as it is grated and could easily melt back together in the heat. Quality not affected but the convenience would be reduced. The packaging is biodegradable, so if you plan on storing a while, have a container to put it in.

First time trying cacao in this form. It is in a pure form and it is not sweet. A little bitter in fact. For health benefits, I’m substituting for coffee once a day. Coffee the rest of the day! PLEASE READ THE RECOMMENDED DOSAGE AND KNOW WHAT YOU CAN TAKE PER DAY!

I had ordered this cacao maybe 2-3 times in the past with amazing results. I was super pleased with the consistency, taste, strength, and the ease of the shavings. This past order was awful. My order was delayed by 3 weeks, and then finally shipped. When I received I opened the outer Amazon box which was not damaged at all, and the outer sleeve which covers the main box the product was in (also not damaged so it seems like they knew this product was spoiled and tried to cover it up), to find the main package and its contents to be completely destroyed and/or spoiled (see photos). I am so disappointed because I thought I had potentially found a new cacao company that didn’t charge an exorbitant amount for shipping, but I will never order from this company again after receiving this product in the state it was in. Quality control is obviously non existent. And they don’t offer returns and have zero way to contact them through Amazon. Don’t waste your money on this.

It’s not always easy or possible to know what you’re actually buying these days. So if the source, and intention behind a product is important to you, then this is it. On the packaging (and here on Amazon), they provide background on how and why this cacao was harvested and their webiste origencacao.com provides even more reading. The tase is great, not bitter or “burnt”. Personally, I like to add just a tad of honey for taste but other times, depending on context, I take it unadulterated to build a closer relation to the cacao. Lastly, just knowing that you’re supporting the indigenous people of Colombia who’ve been doing this for countlesss generations and treat cacao as a sacred plant (not a commodity) also tastes very good to me.
