Cokin P-Series 77mm Lens Adapter Ring

The product arrived quickly and was in good condition. I can’t really comment on durability and I think that it is a good value. The problem was that I have a size “a” system and this is a size “p” filter holder which was my error. I have to order the size p holder and filters for size p.

Worked great. Fit my Cokin filter holder and my Canon 77mm lens no problem.

I got this 58mm ring to fit my Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM . It fits perfectly with my 20-year-old Cokin filter holder. Some good things don't change. I recommend the Cokin system for adaptability and creativity it allows. No need to buy a filter for each size lens you own, just one of these rings. And Cokin's square holders allow for some creative possibilities that a round screw on filter may not, such as gradient filters. Also, you can make your own "filters", a piece of plastic smudged with Vaseline, custom bokeh cutouts, etc. One (usually small) issue with squre filters is that if you're using a gradient filter and if your lens turns while focusing then the gradient can become misaligned if you refocus. However, quiet a few lenses do not turn while focusing. If your lens does turn you may be able to focus and then switch your lens to manual and set your filter alignment. Anyway, just thought I'd point that out.

I purchased the 77mm Cokin P Adapter ring for use on a Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 zoom lens. When I attached the adapter ring to the lens, I found the diameter of the adapter ring was the same as the lens body. I was unable to slide the Cokin P filter holder on to the adapter ring as there was no space between the adapter ring and the lens. The 77mm adapter ring needs to be made like the 82mm adapter ring. The 82mm adapter ring has a slot around the outside of the ring, which allows the filter holder to slide on to the adapter ring. The 77mm adapter ring needs to have the same slot as the 82mm adapter ring. So, in order to use the Cokiin filter holder on the 70-200mm lens, I had to buy a 77-82mm Step-up Ring, which allowed for me to use the Cokin 82mm Adapter ring, which allowed me to attach the Cokin filter holder.

What can I say it’s an adapter ring and it fits! Great price!

Not truly compatible with old Cokin filters but Aussie ingenuity made it work.

Adapter Ring, obwohl es schon der 2te ist. Ein Kamerasturz hat den ersten dermassen deformiert, das ich den Ring nicht mehr von meinem B+W Polfilter trennen kann. Schön das er so schmal ist, somit stört er kaum und ich muss den teuren Pol-Filter nicht auch noch ersetzten. Ich glaube sogar das der Ring mein 70-200 2,8 von Sigma gerettet hat. Das hat - ausser etwas Schmutz - nichts abbekommen (Die Kamera hatte einen Riss im Gehäusedeckel, der reparabel war). Ich glaube das ich durch den Ring auch einiges an Kosten gespart habe, da er bei dem Sturz die Hauptlast absorbieren musste. Ich würde ihn mir auch nochmal kaufen.
