A MUST HAVE For The Photographer's Arsenal -
CLIFFNOTE VERSION OF STANDARD DISCLAIMER PREFACE: I was skeptical too; Figured low cost ensured a low/no quality piece of no name plastic with a life expectancy that expired before I even bought it. It's a great remote that functions fine. No compatibility issues with my T1i or T3i - High quality look that doesn't scream no name cheap. True it's not a Kevlar remote dipped in titanium but I was surprised by it's decent appearance, look and feel. Not the standard disposable cheap plastic properties to it. Comes with battery (not sure how much a replacement battery is or average lifespan) and instruction 'paper' in a decent small box suitable for storing remote if need be. Switch on back selects timer or just shutter release - Great for long exposures on a tripod where avoiding even the slightest vibration from hitting the shutter is crucial. Shutter remotes and cables are great and a necessity for a plethora of photography uses and techniques and this remote handles it. Range is acceptable - I didn't lay down the tape measure but I had no failures within about 8 feet (which isn't an issue for my uses) - Either preset lens to manual focus and fire away or set to auto and the lens focuses just fine when remote trigger is pushed. No problems or hangups - Remember, depending on your camera you will need to change the settings in the drive mode. For Canon's you switch the drive to self timer/remote - This might sound obvious but I've seen people curse and almost destroy perfectly good remotes, thinking they are inoperable because they forgot to switch a setting in their camera. Adjust timer as/if needed or switch the remote to basic and fire away. Two things to point out - Continuous Shooting mode: You can't hold down the button and shoot continuous, but you can rapidly depress and release the trigger and it functions just like continuous shooting mode. Remote is durable to allow this and I've already put some work on it. Bulb Mode; I may be wrong but it doesn't seem to support bulb mode..? I didn't get a chance to mess with it too much in bulb mode so maybe someone else can field that question. Great buy and gadget -

This did not even try to work. A cheap imitation of the actual Canon remote.

Great product for a very affordable price!
I have a 60D and this little remote worked perfectly! A few things: -On the back of the remote, there's a little switch on the left side with 2 options ("2" and a circle) - slide it to "2" -You have to set your drive mode to the 2 second delay option -Pull the little plastic tab off (protecting the battery) before using. Duh. -You have to stand right in front of the camera (or at least place the remote in front of the camera if you're not taking a selfie) -it DOES auto focus your camera based on your selected autofocus point -it DOES NOT have the "half press" button…once it's pressed down, your camera will automatically focus on the focus point and take the picture in one sweep. Other things: It's super cute and small and you can easily hide it in the palm of your hand. It's plastic, but somewhat durable plastic (for the price, it's still totally worth it) It comes with a cute little carrying pouch. Nice touch. You have to smile when taking a selfie or else your picture doesn't turn out as nice.

Works as advertised
Low price, came quickly, trips the shutter of my EOS-M. It's said to start/stop recording in movie mode, and also to take stills in movie mode. May do more, but I haven't found it.. Lacks a way to disconnect the battery which may incur a small drain. Opening the battery door is difficult, but that it its design.... I hate needing a small army of different button batteries in case one gets weak; eventually they always do. For other devices that may sit for a week or three, I often put a piece of paper or thin plastic between batt and one of the contacts to prevent drain. This is a bit more difficult here. OTOH, the trigger seems to work well and was a good value.

Great little remote - Would recommend
So far, so good. It's small and light and connects easily. It's weird that it doesn't come with an 'on/off' button. (I'm worried about the battery usage, but I can't say anything negative about it yet!) It does not come with directions, but really, it works for so many different cameras any directions would be miles long. I recommend going on youtube if you need assistance setting it up. For the price, it's an awesome little device. My camera has a cool app where I can connect to my phone to take a picture, but I can already tell this remote is 1000x easier to use. I take a lot of group photos so this is going to be very nice to have! *I'm using this remote with the Canon Rebel T6i

Works for Canon 80D But Has a Small Range
Its just okay. It does work for my Canon 80D. No instructions but I figured it out on Youtube. Just turn on camera, make sure its set viewfinder like you're about to take a pic through view finder, press the drive button on the top of camera to quickly get to the timer settings. The timer can also be found under menu but this way is faster, scroll over to 10 seconds (but it will also say 10sec/remote) select it and then pose in front of the camera. Important Note: You have to hold the remote in the front range of the infrared thingy located on the front of your camera, otherwise it won't work. I wish it had a bigger range. Its silly to hold your arm out to try and push the button instead of being able to pose the way you want. But the remote and the infrared thing have to be lined up.

I ordered the product and expected 5 days to deliver, but imagine my surprise when it arrived within 24hrs. Anyways, it's a simple Canon replacement remote for 1/6th the price. Comes with a velvet case, and can be attached to a key chain. It's simple to use, if you just follow the instructions provided in your Camera manual or look online. thanks

Works well - only problem was using it with the 10 second delay. Either it will not work with the 10 sec delay or there is a problem with the camera settings. For 2 second delay and immediate photo is works as expected.

5 of 5 A must have bit of kit, cannot recommend this enough.Once you have used this unit you will always want one in your bag.I use it on a Canon 60D and is the second one I have purchased (the other disappeared at a seminar!) . When shooting Weddings this is fantastic for in Church shots, camera mounted on a tripod no need for me to be standing or moving about during the ceremony, don't forget this also works for video capture. For Portraiture this adds a creative element that only remote shooting can only give, years ago the only option was a short cable release. I know other photographers have had issues and when they contacted me the problem turned out to be operator error. Set camera on timer, remote has the option to shoot with the time delay or overrides the camera setting and shoots instant, no need to adjust the camera settings. If in doubt just refer to YouTube and you can find how to set it up. Photographic equipment is renown for commanding a premium price, this is an absolute snip. Delivery was quick and the unit had excellent packaging, thanks.
